I have a friend of mine that is a machinist and I am curoius to know how much interest there would be for some aluminum c-hubs for the jrxs.

He currently owns Impulse R/C and makes aluminum clutch shoes for Team Associated, so I know his work is top notch.

Please post here if anyone would be interested in him possibly making aluminum C-Hubs for the JRxS Type-R

Maybe if enough buzz is created, he will put some into production!

also, what would people be willing to pay for a set of aluminum hubs??

As far as pricing, I think $15 for 1 or $25 for a pair would be good.

I think Diggity Designs is priced right for their TC5 parts.

XRay and Team Tamale a little overpriced at $27 a piece or $50 a pair.

No interest here for I believe it will just transfer the damage to something else in the chassis. I would rather replace plastic C hubs then replace a chassis. Cut your axles down if they are too long and don't hit stuff to break the C hubs.

I have been looking at other cars to see if their chubs may fit, it would be nice to have a set specifically for our car. I know a few others at my track that would be in for a pair. I think the car would be almost bulletproof with them.

if you look hard enough on ebay or other online places you could probably find some of the Matt Francis branded trinity aluminum c-hubs and rear uprights for the xxx-s. the rears are a direct bolt on and the fronts might need to be chamfered a little bit for the springs, but the basic geometry is identical.

Didn't some euro company come out with some? It was a bit ago...

As for aluminum C-hubs. well, i would then have to stock up on arms as well, so its a no for me.

I had some aluminium hubs for my old xxx-s in 2 deg, but there wasn't enough "give", every time i hit something, i would shear an arm off.

Though i never broke a hub, i probably broke more arms than if i where to keep the stock hubs.

I agree on the aluminum diff hub idea, that would be a plus in my book.

I just find myself breaking alot of c-hubs lateley (and i dont really hit alot of stuff either) It just seems like a weak link on the car and thought that aluminum ones would solve the problem.

As for rear hubs, Im sure he can do it. the thing is, he would need enough interest to put some into production.

I don't know if they are still avaliable from the companies that made tham but, have you guys looked for XXX-S blocks and hubs? they are the same. And I believe that there were about 4 or 5 differant companies that made them. Also have you tried looking to the actuale graphite hubs and blocks from the XXX-S, that are a bit harder and are still out there, Just some thought, from my experience with the alum parts on my XXX-S back in the day when I started they just bent. Then I was bummed that I spent $30 bucks on a piece or aluminum that looked cool but was bent and had to throw away.

good point. try to find the JRX-s graphite c-hubs. i've been running those on the type-r since day one.

Get the Parma JRX-S Hard Bumper. It will reduce the load the c-hubs by absorbing most of the impact when you hit the wall at an angle. That's what Matt's car had that your current one doesn't have.

you guys never told Cory to get that bumper? UHG! That's the first and probably only thing I considered a MUST HAVE when building a new Type R. Tell Cory to get a Parma bumper and forget about aluminum C hubs
