Well after all the suggestions i tested quite a few things today and as fast as i was going it was tough against a 422 Hobbywing. Car was very fast but no timing to really see whats happening so will see how I go tomorrow at the meet. Settings as follows

Duo2 zero timing on can FDR 6.9
Throttle profile 5 drag 0
brakes 100 ramp 2
turbo max boost max
0.1 delay
start 1600 end 18000

Temps in the mid 70's with No fade after 6 minutes and great rip on tap. Higher start rpm's felt really sluggish. The broad Rpm range keeps temps really in check and brings the power band on really nice. I ran out of time to try larger pinion size.

I would have thought 1600 start rpm is far too low. You are into timing boost virtually all the time. Would have thought this would have made the car sluggish out of corners

1600 is way too low of a start RPM for touring. You need to raise it back up and then adjust other settings to get the rip back.

i dont agree on this. myself i run it at +-800 and i have a very smooth powerband as benzaah describes....

to get the rip back, add motortiming. but be carefull, with maxed out boost and turbo you are defenitely getting a way hottor motor.
this is my setup:

Motor: Trinity Nemesis 13.5
motor timing: 20
start rpm: 800
end rpm: 20.000
boost: 45
turbo: max
fdr: 6.3
turbo delay: 0.2
turbo ramp: 2.0
no push, no drag, rest is stock setting

motor temps are very changing. can get 50's but also can get9 95'sif there is grip and if im pushing to overtake someone. so realy if you are heavy on your trigger you can get it to cook, but if you drive smooth you will save atleast 10 to 20 degrees. all degrees in centigrade.

There should be no reason to start boosting under 3k in a Tc. 1500 rpm's is less than a walking pace...

I still have yet to see a HW esc come close to our stuff. If you're having issues I'd suggest re thinking your setup, no offense. Let's see some track demension info, esc setpu, motor setup, battery used, etc.

No offense taken its all healthy discussion. I am leading stock at my club and dont just set up my car for straight line speed as our Track is large and technical. 160ft straight with lots of twisty bits to catch you out and some ugly bumps that throw the car around. Another tekin user tried the same set up as mine today apart from FDR and came second while 3rd is running a zero delay set up with a Duo 1 17.5 and a way higher fdr(8.4) and is just as fast. I set my PB today with a 22.63 with an FDR of 7.5 and I set a 22.83 in the last heat with the 6.1 adding an extra tooth each run but the track is always faster in the morning and only half the normal soda went down. Set up is s follows. Any advice appreciated.

T3 FDR 6.1 Thunder power pro G4 5400 mah 50c charged at 5 amps
Fantom Duo 2 17.5 timing set on can at zero
throttle profile 5 push 5
timing boost max turbo max
ramp 2 delay 0.1
start 1600 end 18000

ran at 70c all day with no fade or drop off during 5 minutes.

Interesting problem last night. Set up a new RS on 203 the other day and when making changes last night noticed that the 1 cell lipo box could not be unchecked and remain that way after reading the setting back from the speed control.

Tried another computer. Same thing, un checked box, apply settings, read them back in and the box is checked.

Reverted back to version 200 then put 203 back on and everything works fine.

Makes me wonder if many of the problems folks are having is because of a glitch when the version is updated that is not caught be by the software?

anytime you have a funny issue like the reverse or 1s check box flash back to a old version.

That track looks great. I'd love to run 13.5T or something faster. For 17.5 I always start with the following base setup for DUO-based motors.

#1 motor
set to second to last timing mark on the can (this is close to a middle hole on a Duo V1 17.5T)
run a fan wired directly to the battery +/- terminals blowing onto the motor

#2 speedo
50 timing
10 turbo
end 8500 # might wanna goto 12,000 due to straight length
start 4xxx
ramp 3
delay 0.4
push or drag brake based upon how much heavy breaking is required. i like push 40 on carpet. i think after running this weekend more on asphalt i need at least 10 drag brake.

#3 fdr
start with a 6.0 fdr and you'll probably gear up (lower fdr) from there. i ran a 5.8 fdr at snowbirds on a 96 foot track.

#4 adjustments based upon the track
you need to make sure the car isn't boosting at the wrong part of the track -- like right into a braking section. i've started to run with 0.0 delay but this takes a gentle finger. adding 0.4 delay will help with any motor temp problems. so will backing the timing down to 49 or 48. running timing at 55 just seems to generate heat.

Awesome! Get me a pic and some sort of confirmation and I'll put it up on the Tekin FB page. [email protected]
