Well I have narrowed down the problem to the ESC itself... I decided to change the settings manually but when I turn the ESC on all the lights are solid red. I cannot even get it to calibrate... I hold down the mode button for 3 seconds and nothing. I have tried changing all my radio settings to solve the problem but still nothing? Weird...

Downgrade the ESC firmware to 1.78, then upgrade back to 1.80. Worked for me when I thought I bricked my RS Pro.

I know the FX is really hot when it comes to Brushed ESCs, will i see similar performance from a R1 or RS with a brushed motor?

Currently i use a GTX with a tamiya sports tuned (black can) are there any tips for what i should do with an R1/RS in brushed mode? I assume i should still push the timing up to 100 or is that not gunna help with power (i think on brushed escs they change the frequency or something for punch control to get more power/less runtime?)

The timing setting in the speedo won't have any effect in brushed mode. Brushed motor timing is all in the endbell/can arrangement. Only with brushless motors can any commutation timing adjustments happen in the speedo itself.

Trinity duo green can is a 10.5 btw

thought i would say the rs pro i have is awesome, loved the fx and waited forever for the rs.

running a 17.5 sp with it on 4 cell with my 12th scale, hybrid mode, timing 100percent, with a 46 pinion, 74 spur and 1.63 tires on a 40x60 track, stupid fast! with crappy batts faster than my bros 17.5 hacker and lrp combo with brand new ep long versions

Any word on a software update coming soon, and what it will address? Even with max timing, the ESC feels softer than others. Hoping this is resolved in the next release.

I'm running the sensored only mode, so the ESC's timing doesn't matter from what I understand. However, with the motor's timing unchanged (middle hole on DUO 13.5) things feel softer than I'm used to with other ESC's. I haven't tried hybrid mode with this motor, but didn't care for it when using a Novak 13.5 previously.

We're in house testing the software now. The focus was on the drive side of the software. Should see more power and usability.

I'm still only going to say soon as giving out a hard date can be setting myself up for failure.

I'm not familiar with the new Duo, but if you're not running maximum motor timing at the motor, you're leaving horsepower on the table.

Bump up the timing on you Duo to max...I did that on my LRP 13.5 and it's got a heck of a lot more rip now then it did in Hybrid mode. Also check your temps and gearing...I found when I was undergeared the motor felt soft too but when I got the gearing closer to the ball park it felt a lot better.

is this thing for real?
first the small size .. then the hotwire trickery .. the ease of updating settings & profiles .. whew

the 1st thing i did with the RSPro was to test & "resurrect" 2x motors that were hitherto dead.

1. as mentioned, we were testing 2x sensored BL motors that could not be run on GTB & sphere (stutter, cog then stopped).
but they run as good as new on the RSPro - with or without the sensor cable.
i suspect the sensor pcb on the motors are gone. if so, how does the RSPro get any "feedback" from the motor?
Or it doesn't require any feedback?

2. it seems that the stock timing for a SP17.5 is 12.
is there going to be any significant difference if changed to 100?
(that seems to be the recommended setting for most 17.5s anyway). currently at 6.3 FDR. bigger pinions won't fit.
this is on a 2wd buggy.

cheers.

There is definitely a difference between 12 and 100, but to get the most you first need to take care of that gear ratio in your buggy. I am running a FDR of 5.2 in my 2wd buggy and might go even lower.
