Ran my RS Gen 2 over the weekend at Village Raceway in Palm Beach back to back with my RS Pro. I was able to produce faster laps with Gen 2 and the motor ran 15 degrees cooler over a 6 minute run(13.5 blinky). In stock now at superiorhobbies.com!

Setup help please...

Looking to step up and run Mod next indoor season with an RS Pro so hoping for some starting setup help.

Touring Mod with 5.5 Turn motor
12th Scale with 4.0 Turn motor

Looking for a mild starting setup for a medium size ozite carpet track (80x36). I’ve checked the Setups from the Tekin Website and I don’t see a setup with the motors I’m planning to run.

I’m an intermediate driver with about 5-6 years RC experience looking to make it a lot more challenging for myself as I have never run lower than a 10.5 Turn motor before in either car.

Looking for any help from anyone who’s used an RS Pro before to run Mod.

Thanks,

Ivan

Tekin has set up's on their website that should start you off on the right foot.

With today's announcement of the new RX8 Gen 2, does that mean the 1s version of the RS is next???

So what is the brushless motor limit for the RS gen 1?
I have a older RS and on the web site it said 7.5 brushless motor limit but in the manual it said 5T brushless motor.

When the RS was originally released SC's didn't exist, etc. With "today's" cars and batteries the 7.5T is the limit. It's been successfully ran in other cars with lower turns but can thermal.

So what do you plan to use it in?

Stk/blinky mode feel

Hi,

so, I have heard that the new RS gen2 ESC is smoother to drive and gives cooler temps at the motor too, nice. When in stk/blinky mode is it still as smooth, or can it be adjusted to be, since I have heard that the stk/blinky mode on other ESC's were not a smooth as when in adjustable timing mode.

I realize that timing ramps and turbo can cause the feel to be different, but when all those were set to zero, what should be the same as blinky mode often feels different. I noticed this in my original RS, even when I tried different throttle curves. Is this also true of the new RS gen2?

Also, I just saw the new RX8 is out. Will there be a replacement for the RS Pro? Or is the RX8 Gen 2 to be the one to use for Mod TC.

Thanks
:)

With a 5T motor, no that won't work long term.

thanks, in which situation are 3 caps needed?

Randy_Pike 05-14-2013 08:23 AM

Rare ones if any at all. The Stock TT3520 cap is more than sufficient for 99% of situations.
