this however is a little nitro movie but does give a indication about the track.

motor became 80 degree C after a 7 min heat, so pretty nice! without this maxed boost and turbo i coudn't get to a proper speed with the LRP 10.5.
i did ofcourse start with a lower value to look at the temps but they never exceeded the 85C... so i think it is possible!

What is your full set up and gearing ??

What motor are you running ??

I had been using max timing and max boost in my 17.5 tourer but had no additional motor timing and a 3000 start 18000 end rpm. Everyone said it wouldnt work but it was really quick at the end of a very long straight and had awesome rip with a 6.4 fdr. Temps were around 65 to 75c all day. I think the large rpm range kept the heat under control.

hey phil,

i was running my tamiya 416, with a LRP 10.5 x11.
normally at my local track, www.erceracing.nl i run a nemesis 13.5

so i went to the Rucphen track and started with mild timing to find a proper gearing. however this made my motor just 65 degree C, so i tried full timing and full boost and a little lower gearing for one minute, and it stayed a nice temp, then raced longer and also stayed below 80C, so here is my setup. i think i went just as fast as the modified guys, but with less acceleration. i also beated the 1:10 nitro guys on the back straight
i particullary know how the motor feels if it boggs down, i tried a lot of tekin settings on my local track (erce) with my nemesis 13.5 to figure out what boost range would be good. so but the 10.5 did not bog down but also because i like to keep some corner speed at that track.
setup:
FDR: 5.33
Timing on motor: 10 i think, cant clearly see...
boost: max
turbo: max
start: 8K
end: 25K to 30K
delay: 0.4 or 0.5
ramp: 1.0
push: 0
drag: 0
reverse: 0
brake strength: 100
neutral width: 10
BL-FW
profile: 5
software: 203

also, cooling with a 30x30x6mm Fan from muchmore, and Tamiya cooling ribs with cooling paste

Nope. It determines how agressivly the turbo is aplied.

the only difference in the two situations is the amp draw. so something is limiting your motor to draw much amps. this could either be a too high setting for the voltage cutoff of the tekin, or a amp limit on the motor. if its not software you could look at bad soldered joints, just touching or arcing.. or check gold-plugs or deans for excesive heat buildup.

Yeah, i had the same thing happen to me yesterday but using a 17.5. It worked well for the first third of the race, and all of the sudden... no boost. If i picked it up and free air revved it, you could hear boost work and it would ramp up. It clearly didnt work on the track.

RS temp was the first LED, and motor temp was 155 degrees using a 40mm fan for the full 6 minute run. Air temp was mid 90's, and track temp was around 130 degrees.

A local suggested my end points might need to be adjusted (for WOT/delay recognition). It would be nice to see some other ideas...

by the way, now thinking on my own situation, I recently had simmilar problems! i did have low end power but not have a turbo boosting in. the car just stuttered on the back straight. the strange thing about this is that the first 3 to 4 minutes i dont have any problem. but after that the car does not kick into the turbo and therefore lack top end speed. i replaced my sensorboard wich solved the problem. the only thing i can link to this is that i once had a little short circuit of my spools touching the sensorboards metal parts. however the thing just works, i guess till a certain temperature or so...
when in my last race with this sensorboard it just didn't work anymore. it just looked like my battery was completely empty. a lot of stuttering and no speed at all...
someone got this and know what it is?

Now that's a silly question! Kevin Jelich, Derek Stephansen, Jason Moberly and Clint Riley are all on the team and all race onroad at Norcal. I'm sure anyone of them can help you with a setup.
