2008 INTERNATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS "IIC" LAS VEGAS

Hello everyone,

Time to start planning for the 2008 IIC. I had planned on making all the announcements for this years event in the next week or so, but I see guys are looking for some info so I wanted to get the dates out for this years event.

As we have always tried to do since the start of the IIC was to bring the worlds best racers to one of the worlds most exciting cities for one of the worlds most anticipated and thrilling events. This year will be no exception. We have big plans for this years event and things in the works to make the 2008 IIC the best ever without question!!!

Dates for this years event will be a few weeks earlier this year.

Dates are August 25th - August 31st 2008..

All other info will be forth coming in the next week.

Entires will go live online on May 5th at 10pm ET. This will allow everyone even West Coast racers an even chance to enter.

Last years event sold out in an amazing 7 hours. I can only imagine how it will be this year.

This years event will have many exciting and unique changes, I know everyone will be very excited about them. All this will be announced in about a week.

So get ready to make your way to SIN CITY this August for another unforgettable race experience at the IIC.

We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Thanks,
Scotty

Actually that is yet is not why I was asking. Wondering about a possible addition of a TA class and/or a Pro-10 class. I know with so many classes now its hard to add a new class without almost having to remove another, but I am just curious.

I like that this race is now over Labor Day weekend.

One less vacation day I need to use for flying back on Monday.

Should make hotel and flight prices interesting, though. :-(

Allegiant Air to the rescue!

Kraig 04-01-2008 07:35 PM

Hotel name please? Will you have a new track layout as well? Something like they just had at the LRP race, that track was out of the norm for what we have seen around here.

L.Fairtrace 04-01-2008 07:40 PM

I notice there is no mention of the South Point in that post. I hope that means we are out of the middle of the desert. When I walk outside way out there I look around for pre dug holes.

Mr. McGoo 04-01-2008 07:42 PM

IIC dates...

Hmmmm...."Dates are August 25th - August 31st 2008". That's Monday through Sunday.

Were we ever there for 7 days before??? Is there an expanded format or fewer hours of racing per day???

Not complaining...Just curious before I schedule the vacation. Thanks.

Rick Vessell 04-02-2008 06:31 AM

I'm down for some T/A or Pro 10 action this year. Got the dates on my calendar.

brians11 04-02-2008 07:18 AM

You have only been racing for like 2 years! How do you retire and come out of retirement in 2 years?

Slacker!!!!

~McSmooth~ 04-02-2008 02:11 PM

Gee, how did I know it would take about 5 mintues for someone to start asking for Trans Am and Pro 10 classes at this race?

Let's add Mini Cooper to it as well.

Heck, let's just have 45 classes with 10 drivers each. Everyone makes the A and goes home with a trophy.

In addition to the 8 classes that have been offered, we'll add:

1/12 Superstock
Stock, SuperStock, and Mod Pro 10
Stock, SuperStock, and Mod Trans Am Rubber
Stock, SuperStock, and Mod Trans Am Foam
Stock, SuperStock, and Mod MiniCooper

Thats gets us up to 21 classes.

But wait, we don't have Masters class! Every segment gets a Masters Option.

Up to 42 now.

Throw in an F1 demo race, a Robitronics Scalpel class, and a 1/18 touring class....voila!

Everyone's a winner!

John Tag 04-02-2008 02:14 PM

I agree..

6-7 Classes is perfect..Too many too boaring
I would like to see

Rubber
13.5..Mod

Foam

stock 17.5/brushed..10.5..Mod..:)

1/12..

17.5...Mod

Pro 10 Expo class 13.5

Wow man, take a deep breath. It was a question out of curiosity prefaced with the admission that to add anything it would come at the cost of another class.

John, any reason you don't want to have any Stock classes besides 1/12-scale?

Rick Vessell 04-02-2008 02:40 PM

Easy there McSmooth, lay off the triple espresso! :)

I don't care which classes are run, I'll be there either way.

I agree that too many classes takes away from the racing.

And to think that I was going to offer you Goetz's Monokote sponsorship!

syndr0me 04-02-2008 03:02 PM

Get rid of foam 10.5 and make it rubber 10.5. 3 foam classes = zZzzz...

Or better yet, get rid of mod. :-D

Rubber: 13.5, 10.5
Foam: 13.5, 10.5
1/12: 17.5, Mod?

Maybe let people enter more than two sedan classes.

Bigger Brother 04-02-2008 03:38 PM

Cannot wait :D

Decided I was going after a) being in Vegas last summer and then b) watching it online in September!!

Once the classes are announced I better get testing. Now just gotta persuade a few people to come over and pit for me...... shouldn't be too difficult LOL!

Will Kraig be making an appearance this year? :)

Last year we set up on Monday and opened registration on Tuesday if I am not mistaken. I think the pits opened Tuesday evening for setup. So Monday-Sunday is not a huge stretch compared to last year... and there's nothing wrong with a few extra not-so-competitive days in Vegas, right?

Gitsum 04-03-2008 06:54 AM

All I need to know is what day qualifying starts and Im there...

Qualifying has been Friday and Saturday in the past with all the mains on Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday have been controlled practice days. I am hoping it is the same as past years, but things could be changed up a little this year. Only the Ernst crew really knows.

StephenSobottka 04-03-2008 09:43 AM

The race dates are awesome for me...a week before my 5th semester starts!!! I am so in!
