Their is a new V2 firmware coming for the RB30/50 speedo's, the programming card is pretty much the same as the RBS but the values are lower so they are safe to run on the RB30/50. Their is also the option for blinky mode with reverse

hey guys getting ready for summer been awhile since i've pulled the trigger doing any racing at all,

just curious what your guys recommend to place in my tc 17.5 blinky. rbs. or rb 30. I have both. but would like to run them again. Is there any new software that is new since last spring.

or a set up for 17.5 blinky would be great. cheers.

Oh any new on a 1 cell esc.

Both speedo's will work equally well in blinky and both can run any of the V2 RBS software in blinky, the 30 can't run the RBS software for boost tho. If where you are running outside is likely to be hot then I'd go with the RBS as it has a fan.

Max, technical question for you.

Could you share the kick in rpms for Page 2 - Timing Gain and Page 4 - Turbo Gain rather than the item values 1-9 as shown in the 2.2G firmware card.

How does the turbo kick in, delay after hitting full throttle on the transmitter or delay after hitting a preset rpm value?

Does the firmware limit me to a maximum amount of timing timeshift + turbo?

Received my reply via email from Max:

For example, value 1 means timing will raise 1 degree when rpm increase by 900rpm.

Turbo gain:
Value 1,4,7 = slowest turbo timing rising (but still faster than TimeShift timing gain)
Value 3,6,9 = fastest turbo timing rising, almost immediately release all turbo after turbo delay

Turbo Delay:
Time delay after full throttle press

Default New Firmware

V3.5 is out now - [click]

I used it last weekend 13.5t boosted TC and it was very very good, nice smooth power delivery when soft on the throttle and plenty of go when you ask for it. The brakes were immense, even 70% was still enough to lock up the front. The timing values have changed from 2.2g, I have the details from Max, see below:

TimeShift:
1/ 0
2/ 5
3/ 10
4/ 15
5/ 20
6/ 25
7/ 30
8/ 35
9/ 40

Timing Gain:
Higher value means faster timing gain (1-9). Timing gain is now throttle/time dependent which is different from previous firmware.

Turbo:
1/ +4
2/ +8
3/ +12
4/ +16
5/ +20
6/ +24
7/ +28
8/ +32
9/ +36

Turbo Gain:
Auto delay, higher value means faster turbo gain (1-9), Turbo delay works after reaching full throttle on Tx. Turbo gain now use auto delay, it is not grouped anymore, it is from 1-9, slow to fast.

13.5T base setting:

1/ 8
2/ 6
3/ 7 or 8
4/ 6
5/ 5
6/ 2
7/ 5
8/ 4
9/ 1

Gear: 6.4 (TEAM WAVE Eclipse motor 13.5T, 12.5mm rotor, motor timing: 0 )

Nice looking car Clint, nice tidy install.

I know Max is real busy just now but some new good news is the RB0 blinky speed controller has passed BRCA homologation for zero timing classes. I know it will be competitively priced in the UK from Much More UK and I would imagine should be available from most distributors soon. Max?
