The R1 has an auto motor detect feature. Leds 1,2 and 6,7 indicate the wrong motor type is selected for what is wired. However if you did a factory reset it should be back in brushless mode?

Older versions of software also showed the error when no motor was attached. Newer versions of software allow you to turn on the unit without a motor attached. If you have version 180 and it shows the error when no motor is attached then something is wrong with the unit.

Geezatec – Your unit sounds like it is in brushed fwd/rev mode since we will accept the motor when the white wire is unhooked. That is the wiring for a brushed fwd/only motor.

The only way the leds can run backwards is if you are not calibrated to the radio and you have the throttle reversed. If the throttle is reversed it will not radio calibrate. It will accept neutral, but not throttle until it is correct.

If the leds are advancing from right to left the motor should be going backwards…. If the motor is going forward you need to change 2 wires to reverse the direction.

Start at the beginning, check the motor type selected. Do a radio calibrate a make sure the motor is turning the right direction.
