Not likely. Wouldn't be too good a move to go metric when 99% of the 1/12th scales out there use standard parts anyway.

InspGadgt 02-15-2008 06:02 PM

Really? Hmmm the threads on the close up pic of the roll spring adjustment screw looks standard. Well guess we'll have to wait and see.

GreaseMonkey 02-15-2008 06:07 PM

I hope it's metric. The sooner they get rid of the decadent old imperial system the better.

Ferrarimk13 02-15-2008 06:31 PM

exactly the reason why they would go metric, because everyone else is standard, always the old balls with this car.

Kropy 02-15-2008 06:45 PM

That center shock mount looks pretty trick

Ferrarimk13 02-15-2008 06:56 PM

im not liking the plastic center shock too much, but i agree the mount is really cool.

Why the front arms are NOT SYMMETRICAL (like IRS) ???
At least the ball bearings size will stay in standard.

RussB 02-15-2008 08:37 PM

i'm going to hate myself for saying this, cuz these threads always have at least one person comparing it to something else, so i guess i'll be "that guy"...

didn't HPI do a similar rear suspension back in the mid 90's?

but those shocks show some SERIOUS thinking outside the box.

All the front end parts ARE symmetrical... at least that's what it looks like in the pics and in the officail press release from Associated...

If I had any money and inclination to move back into 1/12th, this really looks like a winner to me. I still remember how I loved how my original CRC carpet knife worked with a linked rear pod. Parts were a pain though, which is why if AE has gone this route will make it much easier.

"L" is gone since the Losi rear pod has evolved past (minus conversion shown). Whats the R for? Road?

Since much of AE items are being made by Thunder Tiger, I would think/hope its metric. As someone said, its time we got past these X/X".

HPI's rear suspension was exactly like the Hara is now...damper disks with that funky pivot system.

I am thinking the R might stand for the First letter in robert(bob) stellflue he is one of the head engineers over at ae. Just a guess LOL as i am probably wrong on that though.

Good thinking there wallstreet, I was thinking r for road. I have heard before that when people would say L4 there was always a confusion. Many people I heard thought they meant the L4 oval version. Sorry I might be wrong but I think I am wired.

Peace Aaron(W-W)

Odd that they took the pictures with CRC rear rims and a different brand front rim. Parma?

JimmyMac 02-16-2008 01:45 AM

Are the rear pods finally lowered?
