how do you adjust the droop for the rear pod. i also understand you can adjust it for the front end. how is this done. the manual sure could be more intuitive for us newbies. thanks in advance.

The droop of the rear end can be adjust by the small plastic tube that's inserted in the rear center shock. But also bij the ball cup you screw on the damper tube (bottom side) making this longer will give more droop. It is supposed to be done bij the small tube in the shock, but that's a hell of a job.
When testing with different droop I noticed that about 1,5mm droop is best voor the R5.1 :-)

Out front it's done with the shims at the top of the sups-shaft. But I don't like front droop. It's hard to get it the same at both side's and when it's "off" it will make your car drive really bad. You could also cut down a litte bit of the front spring, but then again, it's hard to get it the same... I don't use it.

Best Regards Robert

download the 12r5 and and 10r5 manuals from the rc10 website and save them. do some comparison as to what you have going on. itll be easy to figure out which pats are incorrect. also, same them for reference. youll need the right side hub and cone as well. ive done this complete conversion beacause i scored my 12r5 very cheap on ebay brand new. i payed like a buck twenty five for it. it made the conversion very easy to swallow. good luck.

Already got it taken care of. the guy i got it from gave me the new part and took the old one. so its all good. but thanks.

car is fully built and ready to go now.

Servo for 12r5.1

I know this has probably been answered but I was unable to find it on this forum...but can you guys give me a list of servos that will fit the 12r5.1? I want to be able to use the blue mounts that come in the kit if possible. Any help would be great!

Servo Mounts

I am trying to mount a JRZ3650 servo into my 12R5.1 and it does not seem to fit. Do modifications need to be made to mount this servo in the car? What servos are a direct fit?

EricF 04-28-2010 09:26 AM

the Futaba servos are a direct fit. Yes you will need to make new holes for the JR servo.

some of the futaba mini servos come with a set of horizontal mounts for what i guess is airplane use. just cut them off and smooth down the remainder with sand paper or a file

I'm new to on-road. Just wondering the difference between the 12R5.1 and the 12R5. I was thinking of going used 12R5 unless the .1 is a huge jump in whatever. Was hoping for some advice. Thanks.

I actually prefer the 12r5 when combined with the wider original style rear pod plates. I feel the older box style pod is less fragile than the 12r5.1 style. I have bent two cars worth of pod parts on my R5.1. Could just be coincidence though.

So it's just a skinnier car? That's it?

I used a Tamiya titanium screw kit on my 12R5, and I can't remember what the part number was. I remember it being all the correct screws I wanted. Can any body help me out with this. I want to get another of the same screw kits.

PLease help !!

The rear pod is shifted to center the motor more on the car. It's also a bit more open making it easier to take the motor in and out of the pod.

Any gearing advice for a lrp x12 8.5. The instruction says 40mm roll out on 4.8v. But I will be running it on lipo 3.7v. Is there like a general rule between the 2 types?

Cheers Tom

I need a few suggestions on gear for a 12R5.1

I was mainly wanting info on what to run

1S Battery: ProTek 1S 4700 from Amain ok?

Servo: seems like mini Hitec has been brought up. Which one?

ESC: I was planning on the Mamba Pro 1S since I already own other MMP's.

Motor: I was going to go LRP X12 13.5

any help would be great.
