Thanks Jack, I am still going to consider the 4000 pack.

As with anything new we can't test everything immediately but we will be testing the 4000 against the 5000 to see the difference on the track. We should get the results soon.

The 4000 is a high voltage low IR 28C pack which should be very good on the track and fits in all cars with no modifications and it's 20 dollars or so cheaper.

Danny I just got my 5000 pack. I have a brand new GFX with Lipo. Is there any thing else I will need to charge and maintain the pack? I've heard of people balancing but don't know much about it. This is my first lipo pack and I don't want to be the idiot that blew one up by misusing it.

Thanks

I have never balanced my packs but it may be a good thing to do as the theory behind balancing is really good. Plus a balancer isn't expensive. The ElectriFly Equinox from Great Planes will work with our connector and so will the Astroflight Blinky.

Please let us know how you like our new pack.

Cant you just dremel the bulk a little to make it fit?

How close is it from not fitting? I want to try a new lipo pack when I get some more money

the 5000 pack would require way too much to try and make it fit.

Danny,

I ran 2 of the 5000s this weekend, and I am really impressed with them. I had to drop 3 teeth on the pinion to keep from thermalling!

Thanks for a great product.

smc, you guys might want to double check your part #'s with roar.

from roar website:
Li - Poly SMC 5000 mAh 5038LD or 5038LT 2/28/2008

shouldn't the part #'s be 5028LD and 5028LT?

wouldn't want your packs to not be legal due to a typo.

ROAR must have our yet to be released 38C packs! So new, even we don't know about them. Thanks for the heads-up.

There were illegal with no part number until yesterday.... and that could be a typo or could be the number I was given..

I'll fix.
