Hi,
Eventually built the E4 RS and can't wait for it's maiden race this weekend in the first round of the UK's STCC championship. Can't wait, the car's been great is testing so far!

Has anyone tried different piston setup's in the shocks? I would like to run 3-hole pistons instead of the standard 2-hole, but can't find any optional spares. Anyone aware of other makes that will fit? I've tried the tamiya pistons, but they are slightly too small.

Thanks for everyone's help,

ive tryed 3 1.2mm hole pistons with 40 in the rear and 45 in front it didnt work that good ive no gone to kit pistons and 35wt in the front and its alot better. as far as i no no other pistons will fit coz the team magic are thinner then other makes...

im going to southend on sunday if u need any help come over either me , leigh and trev will help as we have been running the e4s since xmas.
look for the VW GREEN sharon reg R8 BSM ..

For me, the best are 40wt and kit piston, in all 4 shocks. I tested, this weekend some things, the new shocks, from RS, are better than the originals E4, the nylon pulleys work well, but in the center axle is best the alu pulley, because with the nylon, the belt jump from pulley.
The top deck, from RS is more flex, and work very well with the original chassis, and the last test, is the overdrive like touring gas car, I tested a 34T pulley in front, from Xray, this change front ratio to 2, i feel the car more aggressive, and a little more fast into the Slow zone of track, no differences in speed, and more consumption of front tyres, but i need some more packs, for clear conclusions.

Greetings, Luis C.

Thanks for everyone's support with the question on shock pistons, some good suggestions to try out.

It'll be good to see a couple of other E4's racing this weekend, look forward to it. Will try and meet up on Sunday.

What brand of springs you use? AE because the springs are too long

I put some on top of the battery (far left side) some in front of the servo on the right side and some near the motor on the right side under the pinion.

Guys, where you can get a E4JS (the cheaper version) ?, and which differences are with the ultimate one ? ... this is meant for rubber based racing mainly, as a low budget start,

thanks,

Pat

Need pinion size ?

Will be running a 503002-C1 - 1/10 E4FS/C1 Rubber Tire Spec Electric Touring Car. It's the E4FS Rubber Conversion with (convertable) front 1 way option.

I plan on running it on a large outdoor asphalt track.

Also will have the following setup on the car:

- Mamba Max speed
- Trinity Duo 10.5 BL motor
- Orion 4800 Lipo
- 110T spur 64 pitch
- Internal ratio is 2.0588
- Tires are Jaco greens (Rubberz)

My question is what size of pinion do I need for a 10.5 BL (19T) motor using a 110T 64 pitch spur gear ?

Thanks

you will have to change to atleast a 96t spur gear to be in the FDR ratio for the 10.5, you need to be in the low 5's or high 4's:nod:

Hey Marcus.J

I was thinking of getting the similar car from Wolf Hobbies. The E4 FS/C1. I plan on running the car on rubber both indoor AND outdoor. What do you think? Do you think this is the right car for what I want to do?

Thanks man.
