Manta Ray and TA03 are the same. There is also one that is made for the M05.

BumFacedGoat,
Yes but as I posted I'm questioning it as most setups I've seen (for the M03) are running heavier fluid. As I posted I'm looking for reassurance.

Hey Tony,
Yes I read through that but I'd probably rate SA as med - high grip and hence discarded it. Where as the track at Keilor I've heard would probably best describe the track here.... (low grip, hairpins x 4, sweeper x 1). Would you not change anything from SA to Keilor?

thx....

Which track exactly do you want the setup for?

They are most definately not the same. The TA03 diff is the one to have. It's much lighter and at the same time more durable.

Anyone tried foam tires on M chassis to run on ozite carpet track? The size is similar to 1/12 pan car tires, I think the inner diameter is pretty close.

I see Tamiya is re-releasing the old monte carlo mini cooper. Wish the local track starts running m-chassis as spec class.

foams are available to suit mini chassis, they can be found on ebay(search Tamiya M03, i think theyre the first thing to come up) and in some melbourne hobby stores , havent tried them personally on carpet used a set years ago on an outdoor bitumen track and they gripped well but didnt last long , have been meaning to get another set to run on the carpet at radical rc when wednesday nights start up there again

Search for XPA-122 or XPA-124 on ebay... Great tires at a great price!

Just a heads up on the M06 and keeping your motor alive. Run a fan on the thing! My motor temp after a 5 minute race (indoor, carpet, with a heatsink) was about 200° f. Having the motor hanging out back like that seems to hamper airflow quite a bit.

I hope I didn't kill this motor. It's the only good one I've got.

???? mine is coming off at 98-105* every time, and I've been TQ and winner most of the time. I think the key is don't fight the car, it is a little rear loose and if you 'fix' it the corner speed is lost and results in drag producing the heat.

Your motor ran really cool when I pinned you into the sweeper wall yesterday :D

Where can I get the 3* rear uprights for the M05? I filled the gear diff with 500K oil and I love how it handles now, but I need some more rear toe to plant the back end a bit more coming out of the turns.

Seems any of us running the 06 are hotter than the other M's. Another fellow was running about 160°f with a fan. You've got to consider that we're running on a fairly tight indoor course. The back straight is under 70' and the rest of the course is technical as heck. I was even running an 18 tooth pinion and just barely winding out through the sweeper and down the back.

Airflow never really happens when you run this slow I guess.

were you using the aluminum motor plate?
