Dirk, that should point forward edge of the rear wheels in toward each other and add rear grip at the expense of tire wear and drag. If you are having trouble keeping the backend in the back, toe in would be one thing to try.

actually, the back end has this weird "axle-hop" on really tight turns. If turning right then the left rear tire goes "RATATATATA!" this happened ever since I lowered it. Maybe it needs more rear camber?

The reason it hops is because the rear insert is to soft. The edge of the tires are folding. I found that out after I won the Canadian Finals in mini. I was brushing speed around the corners yet i still came first overall. Where do u guys race? Do any of you run at the Tamiya track in California? Because I was wondering what tires hook up there.

thanx

Also could be a light body rub

I thought Lindsay won again Steve?

For tires run A's if you are coming down some go to the S but best corner speed is from the A's just mess with insert to keep your speed up through the corner

Hey did, just, but he can't go because of college. So, i get 2 go :D

Come over and say hello when you come down. T Wright knows who I am.
Any idea where you guys are staying this year?

For insert I prefer to run the 50d black shaped insert in the rear to keep the tire with air gap/grip but it still rolls freely. For fronts run a 24mm insert with a mini foan insert inside of it. It fills the carcass up good and lets it roll through the turns.

Did you guys run a 1-way during the finals up there?

fowlerJr68 09-10-2003 09:13 AM

Ya we're staying at the Court Yard in Laguna Hills. It'll be awsome, it's my secon year of racing and this is the biggest race i've been at. Although i will be attending cleveland aswell in november.

I know that Tom Lindsay did run a one way but i didn't. Should i run a one-way there? Also the foam for the rear u talk about, is it the firm foam or the kit foam?

thanx

They(Courtyard) were mondo expensive this year so we won't be there.

On the 1-way try it Tom loves it but I have not been a big fan in the past.
Either foam you can tailor your tires a bit depending on which foam you use.
I assume you are running the 03/03L this year as the 04 has had it's nuts cut off with the rule changes.

Tell Tom I'll take the beer he kept trying to get me to have last year. Say hello to Mike for me also he is coming also I saw he won F1

Difuser 09-10-2003 09:29 AM

Also same with the 24mm insert vary to conditions

fowlerJr68 09-10-2003 09:30 AM

ok thanx...i have so many tires that are unmounted so we'll c when we get 2 the track.

Oneways on a mini? What diff would that be? And for what car? How does it handle. Sorry, but first time I heard of this. Any of you guys have comments on using either the short plastic cva shocks or the pink alloy one? I ended up using the alloy even thought I had both. the mini cva is just too short for the sport tuned spring.Seems like the spring is too compressed and feels that the shocks are too stiff.

Difuser 09-10-2003 10:07 AM

Sipa the 1-way is from the old TA02-03 series. It frees the car into the turn as thee is no drag from the drivetrain along with the pull of a locked/spool front end.

For shocks I use the alum as they dampen better along with more precision on a bumpy track in can be a little to tall and restrict wheel travel. as for spring length I run no ride height spacers on the long shock body so ride height is about 3.5mm not sure how well it works with the Mini CVA's though
