Chevron is just a one-man operation so they cant pump them out like other companies can.

Oh..and they don't have any in stock at the moment anyway!

Do you have a web address for R10? I would like a Chevron Monster M body as well.

Hi, has anyone tried the new alu shocks yet??

Not yet... but I was looking at them vs the std tamiya blues.. and IMO, your better off going for the standard set.

Main reason is that a) the standard ones are cheaper, b) they come with delrin pistons c) have the alloy adjuster ring and spring holder.

Hence why I brought a set of the standard ones to replace the Silver TRF's I sold to someone else :p

Bump!

(for w-w). Anyone got any updates on when type-A slicks will be available again? Champ told me end of March, but they also told me that Tamiya are looking for someone else to do their tyres because the price has just increased from their current supplier. So who knows.

Yea same difference but whatever moving on. I heard from my local shop that they should be coming to them in the middle of april. I couldn't even get any mini tires for the first tcs race. :(

If anyone is interested I have a couple of the 4 slot Johnson motors (much higher RPM than the current 2 slot Johnsons) for sale. These are getting very hard to find. Race ready . PM me if interested.

Can anyone help me locate the Titanium Turnbuckels for the M03 and M04?

tony gray 03-07-2008 01:53 PM

Part No 53527 - 32mm

They're readily available. Tamiya USA have them listed, as do etamiya.

Are the kit tires with the Suzuki Swift 60D? I am wondering if I need to double stuff the kit tires. Also if I double stuff should I be using 24mm or 26mm inserts?

tony gray 03-08-2008 10:14 AM

The kit tyres will be lucky to last 2 battery packs....so double stuffing them would be a complete waste of time.

If you are only running carpet then yea double stuff. If your on pavement I would choose another tire. I think it is 24mm that you would use. I can't remember exactly. I have used my kits tires for about 8-10 runs. They are still fine to use but not what is suggested at my track.

EXIGE AND 60D TYRE STUFFING

This post deals with only those that run the Exige BL system in their Mini.
Well I had problems for the last couple of weeks with the Exige system in the MIni. The problem was that the speedie would loose signal from the radio and go into shutdown mode. This caused the car to stop and the only way to get it to rebind was to turn it off, disconnect the battery and then reconnect and turn on.

If you don't disconnect the battery and only turn it off the speedie will only run at about three quarters throttle for the complete race.

Problem was the connection inside the RX. Pulled the connector out, cleaned RX and then reconnected. Will have to rebind the speedie to the radio and then problem solved.

For double stuffing of 60D tyres, a sorex insert 24mm either A firm, C firm etc with the foam works well on the front. Just take your time when stuffing into the tyre and check the tyre is sitting on the rim properly prior to glueing.

This is good for asphalt and painted boral concete surface's.

You do not need to cut down the insert and the insert sits closest to the tyre carcass.

Hope this post helps someone.

Later

Mini one way

Does anyone have the part number for the mini oneway. Looking at putting one in. feedbacks welcomed.

TryHard 03-10-2008 03:49 PM

why would you want a one-way in a mini...
You would have absolutely no braking affect going into the turns... it would just roll forever. On a tourer it's different, as you have the rear diff helping to slow the car, but in a mini, they are freewheeling anyway. So if you put a one-way in and you'll have four wheels freewheeling as soon as you come off throttle...

But if you want to run one, well, I guess a TA03 one would fit, as it's the same size etc as the ball diff :)
