why u dont go ball diff?

Laguna Bozo 02-12-2018 09:07 AM

The TA06 ball diff does fit, but the new M07 gear diffs are smoother and last much longer. Ball diffs get "gritty" fast, requiring a lot more maintenance.
I guess I should have put this comment in the M07 forum...

How much power are you running?

Tighter front diff generally gives more under-steer on entry/off power and over-steer on exit/on power. It'll also give better straight line acceleration/braking.

Has anyone heard from Monkey lately? I sent him a PM, but haven't received a response. I know he was having a rough time, and I've been thinking about him (especially since many of my recent posts were made while lying down).

Monkey is still in hospital. Doing better.

It's good news he is doing better, but I'd rather he be out of the hospital. And I wish somebody would put a laptop under his fingers so he can post here again!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m still kicking. Having a rather complicated round with my condition. The upshot is that I’m missing the worst of winter. I’ve been stuck in here since November 8. Probably home Monday.

I’ll be back to slagging you guys and your terrible ideas soon.

Are you guys still racing these? I've got two I'd sell REALLY CHEAP with the OLD hop up parts etc. Almost RTR--- anyone want them??

Laguna Bozo 03-02-2018 06:58 PM

Tim, I hate to tell you this, but take those things apart and keep the parts for a future project. The chassis kits are cheap. The hop-ups and electrics are not. With the announcement of the closing of the Tamiya track, boxes of Tamiya cars and parts are showing up every Saturday "for free" to the locals.

Feel better Buddy!!!

In case you’re wondering what’s kept me in hospital for 4 months.
