I run S grips in front, and 60d slicks in the rear: No way to lose the rear ever, but my front rideheight is always a little higher than the rear... |
Okay,
I posted this earlier ...was curious if the Tamiya JCW body (which is my fav' for the past two seasons) is indeed discontinued? Here is another question, Are bodies that are discontinued allowed to be run at events that follow TCS rules? I think I know the answer ...which may mean I'll need to find a new body?? -please say it ain't so. And, further, if the body is discontinued mid season (like the JCW) can I still run it for the rest of the season?? Many guys at my track still run the JCW body and I suspect will for the remainder of the season ...so maybe this question isn't so important. thanks. |
Is the body's rooftop low like the Honda crx ??? Rear track width seems very small too... I found out that my m03 ran better with a wide rear (165mm to 170mm).... -Gearhead, ...you can try adding a .5mm or 1mm spacer to each wheel to widen your cars wheelbase ...this may help too. I have 0.5mm spacers all around for a tad bit wider track.

Its the Tamiya JCW body, -the Tamiya site says its been discontinued. :(
the issues was like the NSX, that were long discontinued and people searched all over the known R/C world and paid 2 arms and a leg for them |

I finally got my M05 Miata built and ran it for the first time yesterday. I added bearings, the plastic oil filled shocks, Tamiya alloy steering posts and Tamiya alloy steering rod.
I'm just running it in the street for now and with some Shimizu medium tires front/rear, stock diff and shocks set up with blue front, red rear springs, 2 hole pistons front/rear and Associated 32.5 oil front/ rear, the car handles great. Feels very stable. I can tell that coming out of corners it is "diffing out" but it is not of huge concern for me since I am not racing this. For anyone who is curious about these, get one. Fun and easy to build. Fun to run even with the stock electronics. |
Sounds good. If it's fun owning and driving it, you've pretty much reached the goal of the m-chassis.
|
How do the Shimizu medium tires feel? I found soft in the rear was not enough "looseness" and the hard was just like ice on the rear tires. I have some super slicks I'm going to try with type b slicks....I'm pretty sure I didn't know that the super slicks were 55D but hey... I'll just make it work lol
