Does anyone know of any club that races a Tamiya WR-02 class?
(this is the Tamiya VW bus, Tumbling Bull Tractor, Willys Jeep, Turbo Honda, etc... ) |

(this is the Tamiya VW bus, Tumbling Bull Tractor, Willys Jeep, Turbo Honda, etc... ) OT: I remember back in the 80's they raced WildWilly's on TV in Japan. But if anyone's planning to get one, get the GF01 instead. You can fit the Wildwilly body on it with minor tweaks, two rear WW2 wheels, and have 4WD. I have 2 of them. :p |
Which WR02 do you have (what body)?
I saw the Honda Turbo in the latest edition of RC Action magazine, ...went online and saw some sweet builds. Looks like a lot of fun! |
-Actually that Suzuki Jimmy looks pretty darn cool too.
I have an area on the side back yard that isn't being used for anything ...thinking an off-road track for something like one of these would be great. |
eR1c- I'll send you a PM since off-topic. :)

Is it from the impact hitting the asphalt? If so, can a skid plate help?
Take some of the weight off the top, place it on the bottom using brass, raise height by 0.5mm to offset. I usually raise the height by 6-7mm when I take my cars outside. This is another reason why I hate taking my cars outside because I have to change the setups back and forth between parking lot and my track... with the M05/V2 tracking issues with the rear left ride height, just a hassle dialing it back in while perfecting the even wheel gaps with the body as I like my models to look like real cars. |

I think the reason it cracked like that is because I am a shocking driver. My car cops a beating on the track. It's not uncommon to see my car cartwheeling off the track. This is obviously just the weak spot.
I see... I was just wondering if there was a quick way to prevent or at least prolong the life of the chassis. |
Th hinge that connects the A-arm to the frame is a known weak point. Several guys at the local tracks have cracked their V2 frames in that specific area. Jim was just the latest casualty. Might have been the plastic used in that batch of A-parts trees.
Jim, did you have the droop screws installed when you broke in edmonton? I'm wondering if the screws are adding pressure to the frame. |
Yeah, but the seats were reinforced. It was just the crack propagating due to continued abuse. I knew the car was getting wrecked that day!

Thanks for posting that video, it looks like it handles great!
What motor are you using? |
Yeah, that's a busy truck indeed!
Fabricated a M03 rear swaybar on my M01. :D Drives very well with natural amounts of body roll now. http://www.rctech.net/forum/members/...01-swaybar.jpg http://www.rctech.net/forum/members/...-swaybar-2.jpg Used a friction damper shaft for the arm side wtih ball end collar + nylon locking nut. The bracket is an M05 servo mount piece with screws to box the bar in place. I put 2 rubber collars on the bar itself to lift it from the chassis. Tonight I will work on the steering linkage to make the posts more refined. |

Does anyone know the internal ratio of the 4wd? is it the same as the M05?

That truck wasn't intended to be raced like that, right? The Tamiya folks were saying a small convenient truck to roam around where ever you want (like inside an apartment/condo or car port in Japan).
Maybe the aftermarket folks can make a fast gear for it? |
