You're right. They do have a little play in them. Best I could find locally, though. Waiting on the mailman to bring me the good stuff.

How is everyone mounting motor fans on their m05 v2? It seems to run a little warmer than the v1.

I noticed the same thing, but wasn't 100% sure what it could be.
After a race, quick check and it felt like something was binding up.
Usually only a few minutes between classes, so I don't get much time to look, by the time Mini class comes around its all good. My assumption was must have had a small rock somewhere and its fallen out while I was looking for the problem. Next race, same thing, get home with more time to look, and its perfect.
Really hard to find a problem that doesn't exist

EDIT: Just ran the car on a stand for half an hour. Even at low speed with no load, things heat up a tiny bit and begin to bind. I have a sneaking suspicion it's the motor plate. They did take a fair bit of material out of it for the new design. Next time the car is apart, I'll try it with the V1 motor plate.

Thought I saw somewhere on this thread that TQ racing had droop screw strips that protected the chassis from digging in.
There was a pic.... do believe as well.
Wondering where that was & if they are still available.
Has anyone used these with any success?

You can make you own out of steel from a can or a razor blade. A Dremel, a little talent, a dab of epoxy and you're set.

So, did anyone test an M03 vs a M05V2 back to back? Which is faster?
In previous tests the M05V1 was slower on carpet vs the M03

I ran both cars back to back this summer on the asphalt. Both cars ran identical laps times, but felt completely different.
The M03 was a very direct feeling car. It drove like a Cadillac and turned really well. It wouldn't do anything stupid while driving it.
The M05v2 is a nimble little beast. It does carry more corner speed but because of the reduced chassis roll, I had to find other ways to make it turn. The car transitions much more quickly that the 03, but can get a little happy in the back end and want to step out on occasion.
We all have a lot of time in the 03's and I think with a little more time running the v2 we will get faster than we were with the 03s.

Check with Mark T. I think he tried these, but they were too thick.

Right on Jamie! I did not prefer the spec r down stop discs. I preferred the razor blade pieces. Please wear eye protection while breaking razor blades. Also use two pliers and nip the pieces into the sizes that are needed. Please be careful and I do not condone or recommend this. only professional razor blade breakers shall do this mod. seriously.
