Curious to see if the m06 has the same contact surfaces for droop. We will probably see an M06 Pro Ver II soon as well

M06 doesn't sell very good compared to M05

It took 2 years between the release of M06 Pro (in 2010) and M06 R (in 2012)

Tamiya releases special chassis kit for M05 almost every year since 2009.

I wonder how a rear sway bar connects to the new rear arms??

couple questions:
sorry if this was answered:

1) ...I am assuming the chassis can be swapped from M05 V2 to V1? -if you want to run square battery pack?

2) ...does anyone know if the track width is the same as the M05 V1? -i notice the rear arms have adjustable links on the top portion (whereas the V1 does not) ....to fit adjustable links in that space on the V1 would give a negative droop ...so thinking that the V2 may be slightly wider?

1. The obvious bits you'd need are the main chassis parts & lower control arms.

2. Track width will likely remain the same. Adjustable upper links have been available on the M05 since 2009.

EricP: Gears? Are the gears the same as previous models, or have they been revised? Diff?

For those interested, it seems that the "shorty" packs will fit.

I may be the "Lone Ranger" on this one, but so far have not seen anything to make me run out and buy one. In fact, a couple of the changes make me less likely to want one. That you can use a square battery may be a plus on the performance side, but is a big negative on the $$$$ side.

I'm going to wait this one out and see how my more enthusiastic fellows fare. I was all excited about the 05 and bought several, then parked them all after struggling with them for a few months.

the M05 pro came with adjustable rears - fronts were fixed...but you were able to buy the adjust links to add to the front :)

-oh, man your missing out on the fun. Getting the M-5,4,3, etc... to run great is 1/2 the fun! I love that racing the M series cars is part good driving skills and part good RC mechanic skills. :)

Everything is the same as the original M05 except the redesigned "A-Parts (chassis)" tree, NEW motor mount to go with the new chassis, and suspension arms part trees... With that said, just an FYI to those that want to wait for those parts only... you'll probably be waiting a while...

This new chassis is looking a little better now that we can actually see pictures. Do they still include the Philips hardware or hex?

All the pictures, including the manual, show Philips.

Don't know if it just the finish or the angle on the photos, but it looks like the portion of the chassis that holds the diff might be narrower. The Bosses for thr bumper screws seem to jut out a little more that before. Also, the front upper arm mounts appear beefier. If this update addresses a lot of the things about the 05 I hated, I may end up shelving the 03. The biggest bonus is the droop adjustment and square batteries. Never having to build dampers to a specific length again is very appealing and finding ROAR approved round packs is getting harder all the time. I can get approved, squared, shorties for less cash. Just in time, too. All my stick packs are getting weak and starting to puff a little.

I understand your point about the popularity. At present there is no Pro or R version of the M06. A Version 2 would be the new arms and a set of plastic clear shocks and blue anodised parts as before. Not much R&D required there.
