M-grips work much better on our carpet too.
The S-grips just slide around too much and the M's have good traction. |
Im guessing no tire compound? Ive found the S grips much better using compound, and CA on the side to combat the grip rolling.
|
We use traction compound, the s-grips just don't work great on our carpet.
The S's are better than the kit tires, but the M's just grip much better. |

Beautiful work.

I'm looking to put a ta03 ball diff in my m05 and was wondering if I need to get the universal axles too? I'm hoping it will help me give me a little more drive out of the corners.

It appears there is some logic behind Tamiya adding weights to the rear uprights on the M06R. Other companies are testing clamp on weights on all four corners. It kind of shows that the physics don't necessarily scale down at the same rate as the cars. Should be interesting.

Mass damping has been used in f1 before. But the tamiya concept is too basic to be of much use. You are better off using thicker oil.

Any sense in using a higher end speed control with the stock silver can? Will a speed control run it faster? smoother?

smoother? The Tamiya 101/104 is a pretty decent ESC, better than a lot of the mid-range alternatives. High end ESCs give you a little more adjustment and a little more "feel". But not any more top end. |
Well I currently have a stock HPI Blitz speedo in my M03 and seems to pulse at low RPM. I don't remember my crawler do that with a brushed motor when using my MMP.

The primary reason for using higher end electronics is for reliability and consistency of performance. Most of the electronics in the Minis in my stable have electronics that are many years old, but still are trouble free. Yes, hi end stuff fails, but not at the same rate as "cheap" stuff. |
