My 'x' shaped carbon fibre rear body post brace. It's too tall, so is in my kit box now....

Crap! I'm bored again. I almost ordered a full set of ceramic bearings. I need a hobby to back up my hobby.

Maybe I missed it going thru all the pages. I was thinking about getting one and not sure if I should get the S-spec or get the mini kit and upgrade slowly? Any help would be great

If your going to race it then S spec is the best way to get most of the commonly bought alloy hopups.
Wheels ordered from Japan on Sunday evening, arrived here (Ireland) Thursday morning.
Looks good IMO

No, that's really not true. A 17.5 will run rings around a "normal" Silvercan and run away from Blackcan motored cars. At least mine will and it's one of the "slower" BL Minis around here.
A 21.5 that you can adjust the timing on might be closer, but don't know for sure since I personally have never run one. However plans are in the works to do so soon.

Looking on eBay. I found the m05 pro and the s spec and I am reading both but not sure which would be better beginning to racing

Not to mention longevity. I personally run two seasons in novice, one on silvercans, one on 21.5BL and I went through about 10 silvercans whilst the 21.5 has to this day the same performance it had new.
With timing boosting ESCs these days, it doesn't matter if physical timing can be altered on BL motors or not.

A key idea might be to shop for a motor in the correct rpm range. 2200kv motors are generally 17.5-21.5, depending on the manufacturer. 2200kv, btw, simulates silver cans pretty well, but will also feature loads of torque. Careful!

I was thinking about using a viper vtx1 and a viper 21.5
