Handout Motors?
At a handout race, how many motors do people usually buy? If you just get one, are you fairly certain to get a decent one, or do you have to get 2 to be on the safe side?

How do you know which ones are dogs? Do you bring a Dyno? Or just run it?

Both. Use a dyno to get a general idea of which is your best motor. If you have 2 that are dogs on the dyno and one that is good, dynos don't lie, the good one will be better. Say if you have two that are good, then you track test in practice (if you have time) to see which runs better on the track. That's what i'd suggest.

no your right dyno's dont lie, but on the other hand, i've had motors that just plain scream on the dyno but were just turds on the track. and vice versa....

The best dyno is the track!

Yes and Yes. Handouts are given at races such as the Nationals in stock 27t Class to "keep the competition eaven" Normally one is included with your entry and them you have the option to purchase upto 2 more for a total of 3. Normal selling price is $20 to $30. And it's good to purchase them all because you have a better chance of one of them being better them the others. Of course proper preparation is in order too because these motors don't perform that well out of the box.
