fastharry,
I went and practiced all day Friday. After finalizing the clutch, 2-speed and engine settings the car was a missile. I was able to really throw the car into the corners and maintain gobs of corner speed.
Btw- Nova Rossi NS12S3A1 is a screamer. 41,000 RPM feels more like 50,000

I've been waiting for some common parts for a half a year. I've talked to several LHS' around here, and they all claim HPI Europe. The rumour says it's because HPI Europe are going for the bigger markets, that is 2-3 specific countries in europe, where the RC market is bigger than in the rest of europe.
Of course I cant know if this rumour is true or not. But when I look at the HPI product line and marketing in general, I believe that HPI are going for the money.
It's not up to me to decide if this is wrong or right, but a simple fact is, that I wont buy a car which I cant get parts for.

Let me just say one thing about HPi this time around- they are stepping it up in my opinion. I was very pleased to see they showed up for Cleveland this year. It shows me they are truly interested in doing things the right way. When I had the original Pro, i called the factory to get some advice for carpet racing. The answer was "make it stiff and low. We really don't do any carpet racing.." That didn't help a lot. The fact that they are now looking into all the aspects of racing says a lot about their commitment to development. I don't think they did as much for the pro3 as they are doing now.

Fastharry,
The car is dialed. I’m not racing today (Sun) I leave Tue for the Norrca gas worlds.
Cole Trickle,
Id love to comment further on this matter but it is not my area. I work in R&D, not sales. But I will see if I can get any answers.

Personally, I got a soft spot for HPI. Nice cars, which are entertaining to drive, durable and they use to have good parts support.
I do know this is a Pro4 thread, but I believe part support is a very important parameter, when choosing a car. So, I hope HPI will back up the Pro4 with good parts support. I believe the Pro4 deserves it.

Interesting...
Pro 4 and Barracuda have the same internal gear ratio. I wonder what is the biggest size of Spur Gear that you can put in Pro 4.
Internal Gear Ratio comparison between the common shaft car.
2.353 Yokomo
2.4375 HPI and ALEX RACING DESIGN
2.5 AE
2.6 TAMIYA EVO 3
If you look at the EVO 3 and SD's motor mount, they have different ideas on how to compensate the torque effect. EVO 3 actually has a slight gap between the chassis and motor mount. On the contrary, SD install another screw to secure the mount. I wonder will HPI adopt the Tamiya's concept or not.
