Hernandez....My suggestion is.....Cut the com,new brushes(I use the enduro brushes as they last a hell of a lot longer than the sprints and for club racing they are fine) and gear down the two pinions I suggested before.
DO NOT use com drops,This could be another reason for lack of power as they tend to gum up the com giving a poor contact for the brushes
Try that and let me know how you go.

Does anyone have more info on the new hotbodies car? I've been told that it's being sold as a conversion for the pro4.

Also have you guys done a back to back test with the 2mm and 2.5mm chassis out doors, i'm not too sure that the 2mm is that much faster than the 2.5mm chassis, in fact it may me quicker with the 2.5mm one?

Thanks, so let me just recap coz am getting a bit confused:

As stated earlier, I have 2 V2s:

9x2 hara edition and 10x2 black endbell.

So far, the black end-bell out performns my 9x2 hara!

10x2 settings:

hard springs
12 degrees timing
Enduro brushes
69spur/26pinion = 6.47 ratio or 30.60 roll-out
I get about 9.5-10 amps output during motor run-in at 2V.

so far, am happy with the settings but 1 or 2 guys still faster than me in the insides of the track but my speed in the straights is at par with them.

9x2 settings:

hard springs
12 degrees timing
Enduro brushes
69spur/22pinion = 7.64 ratio or 25.89 roll-out
I get only about 5-5.5 amps output during motor run-in at 2V.

Dunno why the output of the 9x2 is only 5amps. Could it be the timing in degrees?

Your recommendation for 9x2:
75spur/21pinion = 8.71 ratio or 22.74 roll-out
75spur/20pinion = 9.14 ratio or 21.65 roll-out

On comm drops, I though it was supposed to increase voltage and output? Also, shouldn't I use comm drops while running-in my motor after lathing?

Try taking the timing out to 20degrees. You will notice how much faster the motor will be.

Hernandez...I agree,I use 18degree timing on all my v2 motors.I find in mod you do not need com drops at all.If you want more power...turn the timing up!!I did an experiment with a 540 motor...using com drops it was faster at first but as the race progressed it got slower(The com became black and burned)I would recomend you do not use them when running a motor in .Try advancing the timing/cut com/new brushes/no drops and see the difference.

Thanks to all for the assistance.
Have my big race 2 days from now and will let you guys know how I fared (especially with your valuable inputs).
Thanks again =)
