Howdy everyone.
I've only seen Composite and Derlin outdrives, on cars or on the setup sheets. At least my sheets only list composite or derlin for a diff type.

axel - Remember Hara is a factory driver. He runs what the factory would like him to or something he designs, that's what he's paid to do. You will see all kinds of weird or different parts on factory drivers cars. Some are really cool but don't work. If it works, they will sell it. Just takes time. At least he's not like some factories and hide everything under a towel. It's good to see what they are trying and what actually works and becomes for sale.

take care
john

Really....Which sheets are you looking at...most of the new ones from Andy Moore and Hara only have check boxes for Delrin or Composite outdrives.

I'm almost 99% sure there are no metal outdrives made for the Pro4 at this time.

Steel outdrives sound terrible. The delrin drives hold great even under a 8 turn mod and are very light.

by the way, talking about weight, can anyone tell me how much your pro4 weights?
i have pro4 with novak ss5800 brushless, futaba 9451 digital servo, hpi rubber advan tires with dish wheels and profotorm
stratus body, total weight 1520 , isn't that too much?

For any of the TC3 converts, metal was they way to go on them...

The plastic AE diff's where NEVER as smooth as the metal onces, lightened or other wise.....

Ask any of the TC4 guys what they have in thier car....
That's ones of the few complaints that most TC4 guys have about the new kit.

I think this where JBrake is comming from.....

I know when I first saw the Pro4, I questioned that....

However, the pro4 diff's are VERY nice...

Tres, how did you read my mind over the internet? Scary. Your completely right. I have run a TC3 for the past 2 years, went to the TC4 this winter and have finally run out of what little patience I have for it. I have always run the IRS Al outdrives in the AE cars whether I was running mod or stock. I just picked up a Pro 4 and all of the carpet Pro 4 set up sheets (All from Cleveland I believe) refer to the steel outdrives.

Are the Delrin outdrives good for mod?

Not sure about the derlin, I am running the stock ones, have had no issues...

For mod, I run a 10x2 V2 based

If you look at HPI Team Drivers setup sheets like Andy Moore, Hara, ect....they all seem to use Delrin outdrives running low turn mods.

One of the drivers locally ran Delrin outdrives running stock, 19T, and Mod and never complained about them.

Hi guys

I'm running a spool in my Pro 4, I found the spool is great for the way I drive.

The only draw back is it seems to knock out CVD's faster than a diff, and the spool being ali does wear where the drive pins make contact, but it does handle great
