Don't you mean... should NOT break as easily?
The new kits have the aluminum backing plate for the one-way, also.

Sure, just have to travel to the UK for it...

One thing I have found with this car and messing with the set-up it that Weight Distrabution is key. I had a really bad oversteer when I turned left. I added about 40g of weight around the motor area and now it is really driving well.
If you haven't put the car on scales or a tweak board it makes a huge difference when you get it right.

As for breakage I have had great luck keeping it in 1 piece. Only bent 1 mip bone..

Default Another Pro 4

Howdy all. I just got a Pro 4 also. Spent the last few days reading through all these post, wow. I haven't seen a lot on carpet setup's. Just the one in the instruction book and one on the HPI web site. I did order some different degree's of block after looking at those two setup's. Any other carpet suggestions?

I glad you mentioned the dogbone. Is everyone running the alum. bones and composite outdrives for mod?

Thanks and take care
john

JohnB.....If your racing Carpet Foam tires start with the setup from Hara in the book. It will get you going in the right direction. Also if you are racing Foam tires think about getting a 3mm chassis it makes the car faster as the grip gets higher. PRP, HPI and BMI all make a 3mm Chassis. Check out each one and see just what they bring to the table. IMHO the PRP is the best bang for the buck....unmatched tuning ability with this Chassis over the others. All three make very high quality stuff so you will get great quality with which ever one you go with.

AS far as the outdrives and bones....that seems the way most people are going. You can try the Delrin outdrives...Im not sure on how well they hold up to mod but Hara runs them in mod so they must be ok. I just got mine from KT hobbies(shameless plug ) and will try them this weekend and see how they work out.

Default Diff Gears

Hi, I received my version 1.1 diff gears a couple of weeks back and I was wondering if anyone had trouble with there drivetrain being "less free". It almost looked like the gears were rubbing on the diff case. I was just wandering if anyone had the same problem.

Thanks for the ideas. Yes, foam tires. I'm comparing the difference between Hara and Garner's setup as I'm putting the car together. Kinda going by that and from I know worked on the TC3 on our track.

On garner's setup he has 1.5mm and 2mm for rear anti squat. Guess you have to use washers to get the 1.5? The shims with the kit are .5 and 2mm. Hara had 1mm on both blocks so no anti squat? Or are the two blocks not the same height? I didn't messure them before I put them on.

I have looked at those chassis' a little. They look pretty good. The PRP looks good, but with a 3mm chassis, and 3mm top deck, what the heck do you need the side braces for? Seems like over kill I'll run the stock chassis for awhile and go from there.

The side braces are to protect your electronics from a side impact...that is the main function of them. They will make the chassis a little stiffer but thats just secondary to the real reason they are there.

I am also building a Pro 4 for carpet. I have ordered all the pivot blocks and spacers to get what I want. Where can I look at this PRP chassis?
