well i Bought the 13.5 ss gtb myself becaouse of the support novak has given me over the years.Reports here in socal are the lrp speedo is faster with the same motor, but i have no facts to back it up.I myself have not geared the brushless correctly yet but its so fast so far.and no touchee after each heat.love it

hate the speed passion soldering tabs.
they should copy novaks L shape tab.

The rumor is that the LRP speedos have more electronic timing built into them. I am not sure if this is it as adjusting timing on the motor just changes the gear ratio you need and keeps the overall speed the same.

I am sure this question has been asked before but which brushless motor is the fastest out of all of them in 10.5 and 13.5.

You will get many different answers. I seen all of them go fast so to me it is more of a what brand you like or are comfortable with. Asking what is fastest is always a loaded question.

"UP IN SMOKE!" Not the movie
I have had a couple of very well known oval motor guys tell me a Sphere generates noticably faster lap times in oval racing with any brand motor.

My point is when you mix and match there is that risk!

I've been running novak 13.5 pro version for a while. I've tried different gearing and the sweet spot for this motor is around 5.1 - 5.2 FDR the motor is a rocket I'm not kidding, I tried to go gear it taller at around 4.7 - 4.5 FDR like other guys are doing I don't really see and noticable difference but it's seems like with this gearing you will lose some torque and it feels really flat. this goes the same with novak 10.5 w/ sintered. just my 2 cents.
Usually with this gearing the motor comes out the track at 150 - 160 degree which just about right for this motor.
I also used the same gearing on both small and big track. Brushless motor is not really need to be geared differently on defferent track.
But one of my friend that adjust the timing on his novak 10.5 damn it's just so wicked fast but by doing this his motor can not be allowed to run on 19T class. The rule we have on our track is brushless motor needs to come stock no tampering but sintered rotor is allowed.

I've also seen a racer run the LRP Sphere with an LRP 3.5 cook that motor and then run Novak3.5 and cook that motor also. Racer will remain nameless but I'm sure he pushed the gearing to the limit! I think these motors were given to him so I guess in all fairness a non sponsored racer would not have pushed the gearing. Something like $80.for each motor to go up in smoke!
My point is when you mix and match there is that risk!

BTW I still run a LRP Sphere with a 13.5 Sintered and it is fast when gear'd correctly.
