Default LRP Sphere ESC help?

I've just received my brand spanking new Sphere ESC and I can't get it to work. I'm running a CO27 so I soldered the blue and yellow wired to the negative terminal on the motor and the orange onto the positive terminal. When I go through the set-up procedure, the motor doesn't run.

The procedure says to hold down the set button for 3 seconds then with the remote in neutral, press the button again and the motor will beep. It doesn't do this but the LEDs change to one green, one red (flasjing). I then do full throttle and the LEDs change to two reds (flashing). I then go full brake and press the set button again and the mode light turns red and the set light goes out. When I then pull the trigger, the motor does nothing and both the mode green and red lights flash and the set red light comes on. The same thing happens when I brake. I tried re-doing the set-up with the same results.

I then grabbed my 12th scale car that has a QC2 in it and tried the same procedure and it worked fine so i'm pretty sure I'm doing it right.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I have had this problem with the original Sphere. It ended up being bad, but try the setup without the motor connected. I have found this to work sometimes as well. Also you might want to make sure you are in brushed mode instead of brushless mode. Just go through the mode setup for the esc to change from brushless to brushed then go through the procedures to set up the transmitter controls.
