As of today if you go to Tamiya USA TCS the rule #4 is quite clear that only three LiPos are legal; Orion/Peak 3200, Orion 3600 and Orion/Peak 4800.

my link didn't work

have to click on the opening rules page where it says 12-20-07 pdf. it took me a minute to figure it out

That is the same page that I'm quoting from. However, the pdf page states different rules. Which are correct???

the pdf rules were revised on 12/20/07 and should be the ones to follow. they have the core lipo, as well as 5000 mah. my understanding is the rule basically is any hard cased lipo up to 5000mah

the other rules are from the first posting.

I will do you one better, here's the rules PDF attached.

It says Core RC lipo legal in general rules, then references that in GT2 and GT3 class rules. However F103GT still lists only the Orion lipo packs. My guess is that was overlooked when the last revision was made.

Thanks, I think I have it figured out. Tamiya's left hand doesn't know where their right hand is.

I'm going to assume that the .pdf version is correct and take a copy with me in case of a challenge.

Is there a minimum amount of time you should wait after coming off the track before putting the Lipo pack back on charge?

I have managed to use it and get a slight increase in it's temperature.

Just wondered if I will be causing it any damage if I stick staright on charge after I have finished a race.

Thanks

It will probably run a little faster when it's warm. In general, though, they will cool as you charge them. You shouldn't have to wait for it to cool before charging it back up.

Straight to charge immediately after the race is A-OK 99% of the time.

The only time it's not, is if for some reason the pack is near the 140F max temp. If so - allow to cool/stabilize for 10-15min before starting the charge.

But don't forget to go out and marshall after your race! Core users are courteous racers!

140F packs, here, in the UK, in the Winter, outdoors, I think not

Thanks

OK...Lipos are officially legal now. The manufacturers just need to submit batteries for approval/testing.

Can we get Core R/C to make a 'cooler' looking liposack/bunker since they are requiring this as a rule now.
