Wallstreet, thanks for setting me straight. After last weekend when my IB started venting (for the first time, also the first time I have ever had a cell vent) I scared the S**t outa me , I thought they were going to explode, Thank God they didn't and Doug at SIR explained to me that the IB have been know to vent. Didn't you say the EP's dont have that problem? If so I am going to pick some up next month, or sooner if my IB's go up in smoke, whats that hissing noise?

To give you some insight, check the dimensions of the orion pack with the maxamps 6000. The maxamps pack gives you a nice amount of space to move the pack forward or rearward. It fits snug under the rear brace, no worry, it wont puncture.

Don't take this comment as an insult - but can you drive well enough to benefit from the top cells that are available? Personally, I have seen too many newer racers bolt-in 7-turn motors - or 4.5 brushless systems in their cars - use the top cells that are available and still turn lap-times that are slower then lap-times of a good stock racer. See that their lap-times suck in comparison... pack-up their stuff and leave - never to be seen again.

I am sure that if you are willing to pay $200 per pack, you can get whatever cells you want... heck, you buy enough of them and they may even come built with pure gold bars - soldered together with gold solder (hello oval crazies).

I would rather buy some really good cells from a matcher that you trust (i.e. SMC, eXpress, Kwik - or any of the well known matchers) and spend the rest of the money on practice.
Depends on the driver and the vehicle. Figure, the stock car is slower, less likely to crash and is easier to maneuver. The guy who goes for the fastest he can get his hands on and hasnt worked his way up to mod is foolish. In all honesty, he isnt needed in the sport.

i am in need of two new packs.
has anyone had experience with the EP4200's. are these batteries any better than the IB4200. i have heard a lot about the IB4200's and cells going bad with them, is this the case with the EP's?

can any recommend good places to but matched packs from (EP or IB)

thx

a lot of batteries seem to be out of stock at the moment (the $50 packs) from many of the matchers. does anyone know the reason for this?

i agree lipo's are awesome, they run great in my 4wd, but for stock i think that would be an unfair advantage.

does anyone know where to get some ib4200's from? (around $50 a pack)
