Resistor type discharger
I think I saw a website on how to create a resistor type discharger, but I forgot the url... Does anyone here know how to create one or know the website...
I am using 30ohms 10watt resistor and 1 ohms 5watts...

This one aint with resistors, but it got an auto cut off device, which you need.

thanks cole trickle.. I already have a bulb discharger w/ relay... I am making a discharger like a Trinity Real time 2 tray... since it uses ceramic resistor type to discharge every single cell of the batt...

marc, contact beowulf. He made a tray and I think it has a cut off.

Hi Mark... .not sure if this is what your looking for... but it's how to build a cutoff switch that cuts off at 5 volts on 5 cells... .. hope this link works...

Hi Mark,
Here is the best one I've seen, the individual discharge tray with LEDs is the best because it shows you when all cells are discharged without using a DVM.
Look here: http://www.schumacher.clara.net/equaliser.htm for the tray type discharger circut.
Look here: http://www.schumacher.clara.net/leddisplay.htm for the tray type discharger with LED indicator circut.
You must use a some type of pack discharger first to get the pack close to being discharged first as the tray discharger will take a LONG time to discharge your whole pack. Use a bulb type discharger like a Deans or an Integy 20A or 30A discharger to discharge the pack, then equalize the individual cells in the modified tray using the LED version of the circut. This makes for very strong running packs but only use this tray for NiCad batteries, NiMh batteries don't like the trays!
