Ko is right, you'll notice a difference. but dont run the aluminum in the front if you dont have a forgiving track. i ran my pink aluminum ones at a track that used pvc pipe... bent the front right one. i only use the aluminum ones in the back..and stock up front.

Wondering if any R2 users have input on a set up for high traction, tight indoor carpet for stock rubber, my set up is listed below. My biggest problem is 2 minutes into the qualifier I start to get traction roll: any input would be great.
Tamiya flourine shocks (2-hole piston) 40wt oil
28lb xray springs (tried using 22lb rear also)
upper shock mounted on 2nd to last outer hole F & R
2 deg rear toe
4mm droop fr & 2mm rear
car is really fast until traction roll starts

xxxkat - not yet. My R2 hasn't seen much tracktime at Speedworld yet. Once carpet season is done, I plan to be spending a lot of time at Speedworld.

Traction rolling with rubber tires on carpet is very tough to solve. You can go stiffer, but then your handling goes out the window. You definitely need thick sway bars...somwthere around 1.4 -1.6 mm. Start timing how long you keep the sauce on - the longer you sauce your tires, the more likely you are to traction roll. Also, more castor causes the chassis to hook and roll...you can add shims under the front rear arm mount to create anti-dive and therefore reduce castor. This will keep the front tires flatter against the ground during cornering and reduce the chance of traction rolling.

It should...since we are using the Yok items in the stock form.

From what I hear it should slow the steering a bit (less twitchy) with the off set axle. I'm waiting to run at a track that has that much bite

I know on my SD I switched to 0 degree spindles, I believe that most of the other SD drivers are doing the same thing for asphault.

eeyan, thanks for giving dyaz21 the hpi pistons. ill put those into my car tonight. hopefully it'll solve the problem with steering.
