got the chance to order an R2 yesterday and JDM_DOHC_SiR is scaring me saying that the R2 can be in fact an R1.

can someone confirm if this is true?
are the part numbers between the first and second models be the same?

also have some other questions:

where i can get an excel/speedway shaftdrive system in red?
tried rainbow10. they don't have them in stock

which company produce the 3mm chassis?

which company produced the chassis with the battery position moved forward.

my appologizes to everyone for all the questions.

Thanks!

Well, from my numerous past experiences with R10, they were pretty straightforward. I got one myself last night. I wouldn't think they will advertise an R1 as an R2. We'll see in 5 days.

I would be pretty sure it's the R2 they are selling, they just did a very similar thing when they wanted to get rid of R1's, about the time the R2 came out, and now the R3's not far away....

I would always ask Steve at Speedtech if he can get the speedway PAL system in red before trying anywhere else.

The 3mm chassis is part of the Xenon and Speedway PAL conversion kits, which also have motor mounts that would eliminate the need to buy a Speedway PAL drive system, it may be your best bet if you can get Steve to get you the Xenon conversion in red These both also have the cells 5mm further forward, and the motor a couple mm further back. We know Dave loves this configuration, I've yet to try it.....

Steve at Speedtech will give you an exact price but it comes in three levels, the basic with no drive shaft for I think $200 ish, then the stage 2, which I think is what Steve got, with a drive shaft, then the Stage 3 which comes with alloy hubs and is around $270

Cuda's do come with a front one way, so if you want a normal diff up front you need to buy one seperate, Steve does a package with all the diff parts, to make things easy.

What class are you going to be running?
You don't need to spend so much on the car, especially for stock and 19spec racing. Alloy shaft holders are all that you need to help stop spur chewing. Or maybe just the PAL system.
