i tought the inner links would make the car more agresssive by increasing traction but decreasing stability .

Thanks for the help, I was waiting for Speedtech to get some but they haven't yet and I want to start to tune the car after having it for a month and half.

Rayspeed Red(front) and White(rear) works great on the car...

Yokomo's are a good size, I think HPI's are too long, giving silly ride heights.

I use Alex Racing springs now, a good range of strengths and you know they'll fit

The car wants to roll a little more with the inner links, so you can get away with running a step stiffer spring, and then the car should keep it's stability, but react very fast.

I agree with the HPI's bieng too long... Alex spring rates seem to be much closer together than any other brand I've seen, making it easier to make small adjustments, I do prefer the Alex springs, although I never tried the Rayspeed setup...

I definately remember those 20 heat racedays, the population at SoCal definately does suck now, wish they would listen to the racers rather than raising the fee to get their money. Where are you going to be racing Steve?

Do the Rayspeed and Yokomo springs fit well enough or are they not worth the trouble? I don't want to invest in them if they are going to be a pain to use. I checked the Speedtech site again and they do have the 1.5 mm springs in stock but not the 1.4 mm ones that I need. Will the 1.5mm springs work with the front and rear and why do they have 2 different spring sizes to start with?

Kevinm,

I'm almost done with updating the website, I do have all the springs back in stock.

The way Alex Racing spring works is they first go by wire diameter, and then number of coils. So a part number 14625 will be 1.4mm diameter wire at 6.25 coils. And they go up in increments of .25 coils. The reason for 1.5mm diameter wire is I believe to have something in between .25 coils. The difference of going from 14625 to 14650 might be too much in Alex Racing's opinion, so something in the 1.5mm diameter will fall between the 14625 and 14650.

I will have lb reading of all the shocks together soon (from Alex, to Yokomo, to associated, and Tamiya) Ling (who also drives a cuda) up north have access to an engineering grade spring dyno, and I'll have him work out all the math for us (he is a ME, he loves this stuff...I think )
