The stock spur is too big for 17.5. Run a 78 spur. Your pinion will depend on the size of your tyre and what roll out you want.

I'm coming from 1/8 scale. To tell the truth I have no idea what roll out is.

Rollout is the amount the car will move forward for one revolution of the motor shaft. Check out the spreadsheet I posted before for figuring out rollout easily.

Windows wont let me open that for some reason. Just can't catch a break using vista I guess.

different link to the same target. i copied Joe's spreadsheet and made only two small changes, i 'painted' every fourth column and row grey for easier navigation, and added 2 columns that relate #teeth and diameter for spurs (i don't trust myself to recall what spur is installed). the only problem is that you need to print multiple copies for each spur size because people will ask you for one.
