now I really wish I did not sell my Delta Villian. It was a good car. would have loved to put it on the track and ran it.

I prefer to use what's cool. Style is half the race you know There are some nice GTP bodies out there if you look. But for touring,if thats what I raced it would be that wicked body from chevronmodels.com. Vansinvent still has the splice body for pancars, that one is still nice.

First let me say This is Cool I have had Pan Cars and Touring Cars and F1 Cars and Nitro cars 1/8 scale cars ~ dirt everything and if my ride was setup right and it is working on the track on a given day it is Far From Boring!

However I do feel that bodies should go back to looking like real cars!

I do also feel there is a place for Pan cars and yes the cost is less and the speed has always been good.

But Back in the day: I remember it was a job and a half tryin' to get a pan car to hook up on a asphalt track. (no Traction aids back then) most of the parking lots that tracks were setup on did not want us puting any type of tracktion aid on there Lot.
This is why here most pan cars were run on carpet and in the winter.

The summer it was touring cars and 1/10 and 1/8 scale nitro.

Plus I have always said why 2WD over 4wd because it is faster!

So how about a 2WD Touring car that would have a full active suspension?
Like my F206F1 or maybe one kinda like this picture I am not done with it and the motor would mount right down the center line of the Chassis and it would also be a D-Drive I would need to get pinions made as well.

Well I will work on them both over the winter!

Our touring car and F1 cars have me way to busy but I like what all of you are going over here and in the Pantoura, 1/10 Pan Car, 2S LiPo, Brushless, Tips and Tricks http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=127484

Ask the 1/24th scale slot racers how to promote the hobby. They have the same problem. The cars can't be used at home, only on a commercial/club track.

"practicing" on anything other than the type of track you plan on racing at isn't real useful. every track is different, every layout is different. bashing is about the last thing that will make you better and will do more to wear your car out if anything. It is fine if you want to bash - we have all been there, we all started out doing some of that. the key is to realise what car is more appropriate for bashing. would you take a crotch rocket sport bike on the motorcross trails? you have to cut your teeth at the local track - that's what you're learning to race on isn't it? If "Pros" are bumping you then they aren't being professional. It is not in their best interest to chance knocking their car out of setup or break it.. especially in practice.

The best thing anyone can do is go to the lhs/track and ask questions. If people are snickering at you or others perhaps you should introduce yourself and ask for/offer some advice. A friendly atmosphere is more inviting to anyone, new, experienced, or even spectator (possible new racer). It does not matter what car it is.

i believe stormer hobbies still sells them, but last some heard, associated was out of boxes... maybe someone else here will have the answer.. there is one used still for $95 on here from red-line.. here http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.p...highlight=10l2

Associated still makes parts for that car, but not the actual car itself. Here are some makes of car that are available. Some are narrow 200 mm and some are wide 235 mm rear. The Darkside car is convertible narrow to wide.

The Corally USA web site said the C10X is no longer available in the US so I took the link down. I could find none available, but recently 2 became available at Stormers. I don't know if this will continue. I put the link in my previous post just now. I had added a note in the Pantoura thread.

And of course your local hobby shop should be able to order this stuff if they are willing.

Looking for used a used 10l2 on ebay and this site I've come across a lot of earlier 10l models with fiberglass chassis. From what I can gather in pictures, aside from the fiberglass, it seems that these models differ in that they have a bit simpler front suspension maybe excluding caster and camber adjustments as well as a reduced amount of adjustment in rear shock position. Are there parts available to upgrade any of these pieces and how much of a disadvantage would I be at with an older chassis? Or is it more worth it to simply wait for an available 10l2? Also just comparing the chassis material, excluding tuning differences in suspension, how would the fiberglass compare to graphite on moderately smooth upper-mid grip asphault and on carpet holding all obvious controls between the two chassis constant.
