3300's on a Pro Trak charger????
Hi,
I wanted to know how people are charging their 3000's and 3300's on the pro trak......I see that the pro trak as a delta fall back of .06 or something but I need to know what to set my values on my protrak before I start using it with 3300's and 3000's.......I have used the ni-cad values but I am hoping that the values for the nimh are okay... I think the fall back volts are .06 or .08. Can anyone help?

You can adjust the fallback volts (delta volts) on your pro-track, normally its key #1 but that might vary with the version.
I use the following settings with good results
Ni-Cad 0.18
Sanyo 3000 or 3300 0.07
GP33300 0.05
I use the following settings with good results
Ni-Cad 0.18
Sanyo 3000 or 3300 0.07
GP33300 0.05

I have been using the default setting for my smh's and found out that the cells were getting fairly warm. I just wanted to make sure that the delta values were the same as other chargers for example the turbo 35 and so on. I appreciate the advice and if there is anything else that I should have to to know about this charger let me know. Thanks

My only bit of general advice is that the charger can forget some of it's settings when you mess around with others - so double check things before you start a charge or discharge (deltas and discharge cutoffs are the main offenders)

Pro-Trak can make up a front panel with your own choice of picture on.

I have been very pleased with the charger. I am starting to just use it more and more as the time goes. It has taken me some time to get used to it. I just received the temperature facility for it and I will start looking into temp charging some of these batteries. If someone has done this let me know.......Thanks for all of your help...

Hi,
is fallback volts (delta peak) the same as Negative Delta Peak?
If so, my GP3300s recommend this set between 0.01 and 0.02 and charging between 3 and 4 amps.

keithander - Yes it is, those numbers for the 3300's seem a bit low to me, when i get mine i will use 0.05V delta peak and 6 amp charge as a starting point and change them slightly if the cells are getting a bit hot during charge.

The delta of 0.01 & 0.02 for a 6 cell pack sounds like you're asking for a lot of false peaks, also 3 amps is way too low, especially for stock racing. The cells will have no punch.
I've been charging mine at 6 amps using a delta of 0.05 as suggested on the SMC site, I've had no problems so far.

thanks Ian S - I agree they do seem low but the instructions with the Trinity GP3300s Team Packs quote this.
I think you'll hurt the packs charging at 6 amps and .05 negative delta peak detection.

The trinity instructions will certainly not put any strain on the cells, it's a bit like Porsche suggesting you stick to 3000 RPM. At 6 amps and 0.05 delta, the cells get warm but not too hot and the cells are maintaining good runtime and voltage after a good few charges.
