By the way, I don't drive a TC3, but I can see a good one from a not so good one.

Well looks like Josh makes a pretty good car (Dremmel God!) and can wheel a bit. I do not think his car is very close to what Joe Racer gets when he opens the FT kit...lol At that level all of those guys can drive and they all have great cars. I like my losi and like my Schumacher Mission...any of the top level kits can be made to run great.

Now did HPI run at the Bird? Did the Pro 4 prototype get raced?

Default Great People and Great Racing !

Howdy Do !!
Just got back from the Birds' .....What a riot!!! And what a dissapointment!!! There I was...proudly wearing my Tamiya shirt for all to see and guess what....Tamiya doesn't bother to show up !!! Anybody know what the Hell happened to them?? Although I only attended Saturday and Sunday...I know of only 1 Tamiya driver in attendance. No factory support at all, No EVO 3 to ogle, not even a driver at the manufacturer row.
I actually met almost all the top drivers and they were some of the most helpful people i've ever met. Kudos to Barry Baker and Gilles Groskamp. During 1 qualifier, Barry cut inside Gilles and flipped him...taking the lead. He then stopped his car and allowed Gilles to overtake and regain the lead. ABSOLUTELY the best sportmanship I have ever seen in this sport. Barry was in 4th and proceeded to pass Gilles and take the win. Both these guy's and all the rest that I asked questions of were class acts. The Associated ,Xray and Losi drivers,Mr Mike Reedy and Mr Robin Schumacher were all eager and willing to talk to us. You have all earned my respect and appreciation. Thanks again for the autographs !! Dino

Oval and Road Course qualifying results are now up:
http://www.rctech.net/events/snowbirds2003/index.shtml

I only do the first 10-20 people in each class for ease of viewing. You can see full lists (eventually) at www.snowbirdnationals.com.

I will post the remainder of the mains information as soon as I have it.

Enjoy!

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

Congrats to Josh Cyrul. Not just one class win but 2. Well done.

Interesting to see 3 TC3s, 4 Losis, and even more interesting to see 3 X Rays - 2 of which with European drivers. They really are trying!

I know Marcus is a good driver - European champ and all that, but I always thought that Gilles was the only person able to make the X Ray motor. Certainly results before the Snowbirds always showed that. If you look at every European or World class race result in the last 2 years, the only X Ray ever to feature was that of Gilles Groskamp. We all know how brilliant he is, so well done X ray for putting 3 in the top 10. That has got to be your best result to date.

But what is most impressive is the fact that the oldest car is still winning - big time. Three TC3s in the top 4 places. If that isn't domination I don't know what is.

Another interesting statistic is the number of Europeans in the top 10. Spashett 3rd, Drescher 4th, Mobers 8th, Groskamp 9th.

As for the old story about giving credit to the driver, well now that the TC3 is winning no matter who drives it, now the story is changing. Now the excuse is that Josh Cyrul's TC3 is no TC3. Well it certainly aint a Losi, a Schumacher, a Tamiya, a Yokomo, an HPI, or an X Ray, is it.

Well done all.

regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

John- You are right but it's the AE/XXXS V2....lol It's no excuse but if a racer thinks that he can put Josh's set up on his TC3 he's very mistaken. I don't know for sure if Josh was running the same car from the Clevland race but if he was I have the rear shock tower.....LMAO

I forget what site had the clevland results but it also had pics and that where you can view a pic of the car.
