charger is a chager, unless it has somthing like step or something else. I heard they had problems with the reedy one, I never did but i read it somewhere.

no they aren't the same.. my first digital charger is reedy quasar pro..

and it sucks.. not really.. but if the version is not upgraded its not worthy.. coz i mistakenly plugged it on 220v and blows the diodes.. 8 diodes were burned.. mine was brought to a friend for repair.he searches for power supplies that are 110v to look for those diodes for quasar pro,and it worked again, and we changed the fuses. it means that if u got the 1st version its bad, bcoz all release of the quasar 1st version are defective fuses.. if you send it to quasar they will fix the version of the firmware for you..
what i like about this charger it has discharge function up to 20amps.

1st version:
all qusasar w/1st version (defective fuses)
tends to false peak

2nd version:
upgraded firmware
all are ok

-----------------------------------------

CE pitbull x3

this is my 2nd digital charger.. and i'm very happy with it.
it charges the battery at its full potential.. no need to say its light in weight and very small. it can fit into your toolbox..

PITBULL X3:
green backlit
longlockout feature (eliminating false peak)
up 7amps of charging with .1 increments
no discharge

so in all.. you cant go wrong with pitbull X3... till now im using this charger. its much good in charging.. thats all.. hope these helps..

Default quasar

First off not all Quasars where defective, Reedy recalled them all to be on the safe side.

I own 2 of them and both where first versions that ran flawlessly for 2 years before i bothered to send them in for the recall upgrade. Before and after the upgrade i had zero issues charging anything with these chargers. FYI if the charger is 120v and you plug it into 220v then its not the chargers fault for blowing u diodes. Why not try pluggin your pitbull into 120v and let us know how it works out

QUASAR PRO:
-AC/DC
-1-8 cell charging(version 2)
-new version has short lock out based on MAH chosen during setup
-adjustable trickle charge
-adjustable charge current
-adjustable delta peak
-20amp discharge(for this reason i will never part with the charger)
-beeps that you can actually here. (LOL my club hates my charger)
-will charge dead shorted packs

There is no reason to go to the pitbull if you can get them at similar prices. Charger vs Charger they are equal. But its the extras that the reedy does that makes it the better charger.
