Finally completed. Enrico has some good building tips on his facebook page for those who are going to build one.

Default First impressions

Received the car Friday, spent the weekend building it. Pretty easy build except for the damn e-clips. When ordering order extras of those. Took the car out for its first run and was very impressed. Stable and fast. I felt very comfortable with the car out of the gate. Looking forward to spending more time on it and fine tuning it.

I had my A11 out for the first time today and I got to say the car was really good 👍 after a couple of setup changes from box stock I picked up over a second by the end of my practice day. Can't wait to get my steel chassis 😁

Default Kit built

Just finished the build on mine. Went together well, not Xray quality but still very good.

I built the 1.5 alloy but had a few of the small headed screws missing in my kit and none seem to be available that I can find in the UK.

Any other cars use a similar small headed screws like this? Are the Amx 120 degree compatible?

John

Can anybody tell us more about the usage of the upstops? Which ones do you use (F/R), when do you feel it on track, and to what value do you set it?
Thanks!

Its to limit roll and weight transfer. If you go to YouTube and look up xray's alexander hagberg he explains how to use them. In 21.5 i dont use them in 17.5 i use the lowest value for asphalt. Carpet i think enrico said 33mm F/R.

what it geometically does is clear to me. But handling wise, where would the difference be?
Do you set it up to stop chassis dragging, or is it a feature that helps stabilising in other scenarios?

On my X4'26 I have run it to stop chassis dragging, but to primarily reduce grip. It's essentially a tool to stop the load transfer, which will reduce the grip on that end of the car. So a lower stop would cause the front to give out sooner, higher or no stop would let the car keep diving and gaining grip through a corner. The heights tune when the car experiences "max" grip through the corner process.

I haven't noticed it really making the car more stable per say, unless you're running extremely soft springs and it was rolling too much to begin with. It's a helpful tool to reduce traction when grip comes up on a track, similar to gluing a sidewall, but it doesn't lose any sharpness when turning. If running just a small amount of upstop intervention, it can help reduce carpet buildup on the chassis, but teflon tape is the best solution for that as the upstops significantly change the handling of the car.

Initially in theory I thought it would add traction or increase the likelihood of traction rolling, by stopping the suspension, abruptly loading the corner, etc, but that has not been the case while in use. It's a handy tuning tool when traction comes up.

Lets get this forum moving. Heres a little photo dump of my A11 from this past weekends West coast nationals at Finishline raceway. I ran the factory steel 1.2mm chassis with short rear arms.

To me it felt like it rotated a lot better. I had the single piece top deck but it felt a little on the stable side, but once I swapped to spit top decks it made it rotate earlier and the flex was more noticeable like more direct.
