new tamiya fastest lap record set TODAY by Hara 12.4!!!!!!! (HPI / Checkpoint) "yes that means a new track record for hara running a hot bodies car at the tamiya track"
open class is really tight should be a good weekend
as far as pics of the new AE car it aint gonna happen people tried all day today to get pics
but it kinda looks like a corally bulkheads with some new prototype arms and standard tc4 hubs / casterblocks
theyre looking pretty decent once they get more time on the car should be pretty good

Sorry, Rheinard.
There are a lot of drivers going very fast in the open classes. In open mod, we are turning some of the same laps that the invite drivers struggled for last year.
New AE cars started to get it together some in the last practice...Barry and Craig were popping off some high 12's. You can see the machined white delrin arms while they are on the track.
Hara's car is outrageously fast; his new Team Checkpoint motors are running great...obviously faster than the entire invite field. Not sure what batteries he is running.
I'm not sure what's going on with Marc. He has no really impressive lap times like usual, and it seems that he is getting out-motored all over the place. Maybe he is just playing .
Xray guys are starting to shape up. I think Bobby Flack turned some high 12's in the open class, and the guys in invite were sneaking a little lower at times.
Tomorrow the live coverage will begin, so it will be easier to gauge the whole field.

Fred Medel is still trying to get the internet connection out to the drivers stand. It worked Monday, but now with all the electronics in the area the signal is too weak. Tomorrow we run a long CAT5 cable to a wireless router. We can't run a cable the whole way, too far. Hopefully it will work. Racing starts at 9:00 local time.
Hara is the fastest, at one point Billy beat the track record lap time which he previously held, not bad for an offroad guy. Later in the day Hara crushed the track record with a 12.474
All the AE guys are running brushless, but I think Jimmy J. said he was trying brushed as well.
I think there will be a good battle for the top 5, because only Hara seems consistently fast. Marc finally had a good run in the last round.
I am uploading some of the lap times to www.liverc.com now.
In Spec, Travis Schreven is my pick, and in Mod, could be Flack, Truhe, Dayger or Skidmore.

hey guys the invite class is very competitive. Every team is fast and are pulling fast laps. Tomorrow we will see who is on top.

can anyone shed some light on what cells they're all running? is it 4300 vs 4200shv or is basically everyone running the 4200shvs?

Thanks Steve,
I was wondering if there was any trend amongst the invite drivers - like does anyone know what cells Hara is running etc?

Hara, is running Checkpoint batteries at this event. After the Reedy he will be using his own brand of batteries if there are done in time. Untill then he will be using Checkpoint batteries.
All the Team Checkpoint drivers are doing well at the Reedy!
