Yea I don’t want to find out. I’m going to use some UMHW thin tape to see if that helps and I’ll be tweaking the upstops to see how it goes.

Are you referring to wearing of the chassis? If so, When I saw Jacob's car last month, the bottom still looked really good. Im assuming if the upstops are set right, the chassis shouldn't drag on the ground.

Apart from getting scraped up, I think it's whether an alloy chassis can flex enough to cope with low grip. I know that Mugen will have done their research, but in the UK we have low grip asphalt (in general). I guess we'll see, I'm transferring some low grip settings to the standard asphalt set up sheet - like roll centre, different oil etc.

Alloy will.
CF will just open the tuning window up more.

Car is really nice, all the rod ends thread in nicely - no need to run them on a drill to break them in, just a bit of chapstick and good. Some really cool features on this chassis. Nice to see specs on body mounting in the manual- made it easy.
Racing this weekend on a semi bumpy, medium grip asphalt track, really interested to see how she performs.

We have a local that built one last weekend and commenced to kicking our ass on Sunday after one battery pack. Needless to say I sold the two I had in the shop very quickly after that and have more on the way.

always interesting to see what platform the guy used BEFORE beating everyone...

racenut123 06-22-2025 12:57 PM

You name it…he has run it.

Yea I ran mine today. Just used stock asphalt setup and it ran great. Ran upstop. Works nice, good corner speed. Medium grip track, little bumpy.

I run some protection on the bottom even with the upstops set. Curbing, dots, or crashes will still hit the chassis bottom.

After I ran yesterday I had no chassis wear indications on it from contact with the actual track surface. Just minor knicks I assume from the corner dots.

Ok I see. I assume the chassis bottom is unavoidable. I'm curious how good the upstops will work. I'm under the impression you can set and so you can run soft springs and have the upstops prevent the chassis from dragging.

They work excellent. I was initially worried about the overall reduction in wheel travel, but it didn’t hurt it at all IMO.

Cornerspeed and steering is excellent. Really impressed with the car and it’ll just get better from here with more track time.

It's a fast platform that's for sure. You can really tell when Jacob runs his mtc2r vs the mtc3. Hopefully they start popping up soon.

.

You'll be seeing them popping up very soon! We are a mugen dealer now and was told their first shipment in the US is due in late this week or early next.

But I'll have 3 more kits today and more parts with that being said.

Just ordered one of your 3 kits. Can't wait to start the build!

Quick question, did a search and couldn't find anything. Are there any carry over parts from the previous car, such as, sway bars, arms, chassis weights, etc? Thanks in advance!
