Kyosho TF-8

A Kyosho touring car prototype, called the TF-8 Proto by some, was used by Kota Kawakami to finish 6th in the open stock class at the JMRCA All-Japan TC Championships last weekend.

I'll bite...

From a former Kyosho fan and "supported" driver... it is good to see Kyosho back in the game. The TF7 from 2015 had so much cutting edge tech not seen even in most cars today...

Not saying that they worked better or improved the car but it certainly pushed the envelop of engineering. From ball swing shafts to floating battery mounts...

If only they were cheaper and more accessible...

Following last years prototype, it seems Kyosho showed up with a new prototype at this year's JMRCA All Japan TC Championship.

I always wondered what happened to the 7.
2015-2017 was a strange time for onroad , in my area.

Testing the market with left over parts or just not following the rest of the TC manufacturers?

That would be exciting to see an old dog perform a new trick.

They won't release this kit!

What’s the trend that tamiya and Kyosho are not following? I think Kyosho is back to updating their 1/10 race program,as they had new parts for their discontinued 2wd buggy the rb7 at the recent worlds. But no press release as of yet

Ball mounted arms vs pin mounted arms (as we can see) and the 420X is still rear motor and no ARS. Though the way things are going is Associated is more likely to come out with an updated sedan than the Japanese companies come out with an updated sedan.

Infinity still uses pin mounted arms. It’s mid motor, but to me it looks like it’s still rear motor. Kyosho is notorious for not following the current trends

True. And I should mention that Yokomo is half ball mounted. We’ll see what Kyosho does.

This is from last weekends round of the Speed King Tour race series in Japan. No info on if this is the same car used at the JMRCA race a couple of weeks ago.
