Two hundredths of a millimeter off from perfect so I had to polish it up for a second (it was tight in the outdrive/spool cup). Crazy how precise the hobby has become!

Polishing all parts, including plastic parts, is very good practice when building any rc car. It might take a while longer to build, but it is well worth the effort.

Anyone know if the snap rings that hold the cross pins in on the front universal shafts are available separately? I don’t see a part number listed in the manual. One came off mid practice run and a pin backed out, locking the right front driveshaft and blowing the spool outdrive apart. That put an end to my day right fast. Also having a hard time finishing anyone in the states who has the outdrives or even the spool parts bag in stock. RcMart has them and I placed an order but that’s going to take a few weeks and I have our season finale trophy race next weekend.

Regarding USGT again, the Gravity Edge wheel does rub/tick on the suspension unless a wheel hex shim or wider hex is used... I don't have the new grey Edge rims yet but I'm assuming they will be the same as the white and black Edge rims.

Continuing with the diet:

2g saved with M2.5 button head titanium screws.

Ordered some titanium M2.5 countersunk screws which saved another couple of grams, but the head was taller and rubbed on the gear casing. Had to ditch those.

10g saved with titanium screws for the countersunk and high stress button head screws.

Bare weight down to 550g, approx 35g lighter than stock (including alloy hardware from an earlier post).

Switched to a 250g battery down from 290g. 40g saved there.

Race weight down to 1311 now. Body is around 80g, tyres (sitting under the chassis) around 117g.

I have to run a battery that's 40g lighter to match the weight of my XQ10, and that's after switching to lightweight screws/turnbuckles. That means potentially more voltage sag during the run and less flexibility on tuning weight distribution with add on weights.
