XRAY X4'22 Helpful tips & setups

Tips:

Installing the hex on the driveshaft - Make 100% sure you have the flat spot lined up on the axle with the cutout in the hex as shown in the manual. If you do not do this, it will make disassembly so much harder. The flat spot is there so you can fit a flathead screwdriver in between the shaft and the c-clip to pop it off when you want to remove the hex. Also, when removing the c-clip I would recommend pointing it down into your pit mat/towel so the clip does not go flying and disappear.

Assembling the upper arms - Make sure to grease the threads on the camber screw (302640). This will make assembly and camber adjustments much easier. Also, when adjusting camber you want to make sure you hold the upper arm so it does not twist while you turn the screw.

Droop - It is important to remove the shocks. All team setup sheets will show droop settings with shocks removed. Simply detaching them from the arm will do. This is a change from how we set droop in the past.

Setups:

**If the super mods on this forum were actually right, and handled things correctly, they would not have gone back and deleted all the posts to hide things

***And since they are in the deleting mood now, they might as well go ahead and just delete all the images of the setup sheet, as originally requested via private comms.

used them for years on my (many) T4's. much less swelling than the stock membrane even if you use unofficial () non-xray shock oil

Does it come with Bruno's talent in the box?

(or at least as an optional part with the mini-bearing CVD's? given how high they are priced, I think that would be fair)

No, but im sure you will gain tire advantages if you hang with the Xray crowd at the track.

I was told yes, to the latter.
Don't know if that will increase the price or not

Default Rumours, Spy Shots, Wishlists?

Anyone got insight or thoughts on the ‘23?

time for me to go back to Xray after a few years away playing with Russian cars. Interested to try and figure out what I’m going to be buying

After inspecting a 22 yesterday I’d be keen for

- receiver wire channel in motor mount
- ball bearing driveshafts standard

and being greedy, cause asphalt;
- 1.1 and 1.2 bars
- split top decks
- -0.5 hexes

Yes because Xray seems to be a team that puts in the hard work to test tires and tune their setup around them. Hard work and not innuendos win championships.

My wish list:
- Lower price
- V2 parts standard
- receiver wire channel in motor mount - yes please
- ball bearing driveshafts standard - yes please
- 1.1 and 1.2 bars - current stabi's in carbon kit version seemed ok for me, for asphalt
- split top decks - would be a nice to have
- -0.5 hexes - Rather not, I would have to buy a new setup tool.
- the fit of the axles might be tighter
- perhaps a bit less play in the steering

I'd like damper shafts that have a hex key on one end - zero chance of damaging the shiny parts.

RETAINERS OF SOME SORT FOR THE DRIVESHAFT COUPLING PINS!! Biggest cause of running issues since I've had the X4.

Also, less black-on-black parts, Contrasting colours for adjacent parts would make assembly, tuning and maintenance so much easier. I'm just one of those people that aren't obsessed with cosmetics when I'm wheeling on the drivers' stand.

Regardless, my X4 has been very good and I've had some fun racing with it
