I have been testing my car all day on black crc carpet and the most significant change I've made that made the car rotate beautifully was to put 15k in the diff, in mod the car just comes around the corner so quickly but predictably.

Like I mentioned several times before, the car is a pleasure to drive. I would even say, it is the best chassis I have ever driven (coming from TC5, TC6, TC6.1, TC6.2, T4‘2015 and T4‘2017).

I am still very close to the standard setup, with exception to the rear toe in, which I reduced to zero (inner mounts three dots pointing outside and outer mount three dot pointing inside) and the use of the pitch control system. The former change sounds quite drastic, but the car has such a well balanced flex, that it just will turn better, without becoming snappy. So reducing toe is a very effective instrument if you have understeer. The latter change surprised me. The car got better and more calm to drive on the edge. It also looks very slow and allows you to better control it. Overall it became faster by a full tenth per lap over the whole run. So on a medium to high grip (ETS) carpet, you should give it a try.

Great info! This is with the aluminum chassis?

I think Serpent makes some 5g screw in brass

No, still the stock cfk chassis. I just put some car wrap vinyl on the battery side to prevent the chassis from scratches.

I thought you were looking for AE specific weights. I think AMain has the best selection by far. Just search, weights, and shop away!

Default 21.5T Gearing

I just picked up a 7.2. Going to run it in USGT, Black CRC carpet. The track is not huge. What FDR do you guys recommend? Seems with the setups on petitRC, 4.0 for USGT is close.

Thanks!

I run on a 60x40 black carpet and use 43x100 roll out. Seems adequate with my competition. I also use very low motor timings.

AE weights would have been perfect - but if there are none I started looking elsewhere.
So thanks as well for the hint about amain!

Hi guys, these along with some other TC7.2 Goodies just came in.

Should have the vertical top deck available soon.

Comfortable range is 3.8-4.2 depending on track size/layout, and motor temps after a full run.

Awesome! And for a nice price, too!

What kind of behaviour of the car do you want to achieve with the vertical top deck?

Vertical top deck, like on the old car is better in low to medium grip conditions, cold weather and also in higher bite asphalt and medium grip carpetwith Aluminum chassis for a little more side to side flex, but better fore-aft rigidity.

I also like running VTD in Modified indoors on carpet. It makes the car easier to drive. I don’t think it’s faster in this situation, but it makes it much easier to drive consistently. It decreases response slightly without necessarily making the car understeer. It is a good option for those that like a safer car in mod and super stock classes.
