32’s work great on carpet.

If they are around 24 grams each, they will work great....

So, now we rate tires based on weight? Interesting.

28's worked great, they come in about the third run and last until about the 14th run or so. I glued the fronts to 59.5mm. This is for stock and mod with open tire on black crc. Havent tried the 32's yet but probably wed i will.

Spec tires can still lose 2 grams each(8grams less rotating) by shaving/truing the rubber a bit , with the extra benefit of making them roll better(lower vibrations) on the racing surface...Some racers shave the rims, shaving another 2grams per tire, but it might be considered cheating. Tires might be impounded in an effort to limit possible weight loss modifications, but most tracks don't impound/weigh tires which still leaves alot of room for mods, legal or not....
I know it's supposed to be a secret, but those days are over...lol....

There is no "might be" about it, sanding, shaving, or cutting wheels is prohibited at every spec tire touring car race, and that's a good thing.
On other subjects these Elexis tires look pretty skookum. Kevin Kimberly is a good racer, but there are other good racers at 702, so his victory is no fluke. They may be worth considering for a spec rim when the season changes.

You guys are correct about big races , but at club level it's another story: you take your spec tires home and use them the next weekend with no checks being done at all. I know most racers don't go to these extreme tire mods, but some do...In all, I just hope manufacturer's would also include the weight of their tires in their packaging: it will certainly help many racers get as close to minimum weight as possible when their local track decides to change their Seasonal Spec tire Brand....
BERT = Weight Shaver !!! LOL !!!
Lighter tires will also sell alot faster...Hopefully the Elexis tires will break the 24gram barrier.....Cheers....
