No I haven‘t tried the car without body... All I know is that it didn‘t roll with the M410 body.

Traction roll can be tuned out. You can raise the lower arm holders (bigger change) or change shims on the upper links.

Traction rolling is probably due to the extra mass of the body away from the roll axis of the car. I never had a tamiya body under 100grams with a low roof/tail.... They are just interested in looks, not performance. The only way around that problem is to add weight right under the bumpers to counter the effects of the heavy body or just use a lighter/lower body instead of adding counterweights...

That is exactly what I will do!
Today the Bittydesign M410 ULP arrived. Completely uncut and with protective film the whole thing weights in at 83g. That is quite stunning. Traction roll will be no subject anymore and it should allow me to attack the curbs.

After work my friends and I met for a little Scirocco Cup action. This time I started with my normal FF03. The difference between the KR-MF and the standard FF03 is huge.



With the FF03 I couldn't drive a good line in the beginning. The car understeers severely into the corner. The whole chassis feels and looks like a truck rolling around the corner. Then also the chassis seems to take its time deciding to go into the corner and how. The whole suspension is so soft and bends easily. After a while I adapted to this behavior and was fast. But the KR-MF is undoubtedly a huge step forward.

I nearly forgot: My Shapeways parts also arrived. Depending on my weekend schedule I will start the conversion on saturday.

Also maybe you could move scirroco's CG down same way as they do on real car - by taking away parts from roof, hood, windows, leaving only frame for lighweigt replacement (vinyl stickers?)

This car deserves nice FF body and it would kick a**es in scirroco class

Yeah that is the body I already have on the car. But the decision is already made. Scirocco for FF03.
And cutting out surfaces... no I cannot do that

Sorry, I thought you have std one that means that Tamiya has different opinion about word "lightweight"

Tamiya lw is like normal weight Protoform. On the normal FF03 I had no grip roll with this body. But the KR-MF chassis is just half the weight of the FF03. No chance to prevent grip roll with a body like that

Nono. Everything is fine. The KR-MF will get the Bittydesign M410 ULP body which will be at 60-70g raceready and is much lower.

It's a very real thing. I have had this happen on an M-03, M18, and WGT chassis. Super light chassis with heavy high CG body. Stronger anti-roll bars can make the problem even worse. Make the chassis out of steel or change the body or add weight.
