Hey guys just quick question, picking up a KC and L1 on Tuesday, main track is low grip so been advised to get a ball diff, however I can get a KD conversion for £20 more then KC ball diff (price of included body) so wondering how it would compare/which you prefer KC ball diff or KD car on low grip

I had a KD setup for racing in Astroturf in the wet but recently on a practice day tried taking the rear end off and putting on the KC rear onto the KD in position 4 and it was so much faster and more consistent that I got the KD to KC conversion. The problem is that you cannot use the KD ball diff due to the geared gearbox so you have to have the proper KC ball diff.

The Kc on anything but low grip dirt will be faster... the KD is best on low grip dirt/clay. Very slippery conditions

Lol me either. I remember 10 or so years ago at the nats in Vegas I had a horrible race and figured I’d dump $500 in raffle tickets for a 1/4 scale car they were giving away. There were hardly any tickets because most people flew to the race and couldn’t bring the car back. I some how struck out on that one too lol

just picked up a kc. the build been super easy. One question is how should the belt be set? tight? loose? any tips or rule of thumb on belt tension? I am planning to run in position 3 on high grip turf, 17.5 class.

Typically tight enough you can twist it 90deg. It’s a feel thing you’ll get after a while. I usually run position 4 for Astro and a Klinik max stock conversion kit in 17.5. Makes a huge difference in drag and speed 👍

does the max stock conversion require any modification or is it a direct fit. Didnt really want to drill new holes or dremel stuff that will limit me to stock 17.5. Wondering in case i ever decide to run mod.

There’s a couple minutes of dremeling involved. But doesn’t limit to only running stock. You can swap back and forth no problem.
